Role:

·         As part of the CB Learning Team the Credit Risk & Underwriting Learning Associate will be responsible for instructing CB employees on introductory, intermediate and advanced banking, credit and lending fundamentals. 

·         Leveraging their experience and technical understanding of these fundamentals, the Credit Risk & Underwriting Learning Associate will help design, instruct, deliver and manage multiple training programs across numerous platforms and will be integral in supporting the business achieve its long-term strategic goals. 

·         The ideal Credit Risk & Underwriting Learning Associate will have a strong knowledge base and experience in, but not limited to, accounting, lending fundamentals, financial statement and credit analysis, collateral analysis, business, industry and management analysis, risk rating and loss given default, credit structuring concepts and financial modeling.     

Responsibilities:

·         Instruct and develop content on banking, credit risk, lending and underwriting concepts, including but not limited to accounting, lending fundamentals, financial statement analysis, credit analysis, collateral analysis, business, industry and management analysis, risk rating, loss given default, credit structuring concepts, relationship management, profitability and financial modeling

·         Independent, end-to-end management of on-going training programs – including, but not limited to, facilitation and instruction of course material; communication and registration; ownership of rosters, agendas and calendars; developing and refreshing of program content and cases;  organizing logistics and booking speakers; completing performance management and evaluations; etc.

·         Cultivate and maintain partnership with key stakeholders to ensure programs and curriculum support the overall strategic priorities of Commercial Banking

·         Develop and maintain partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the CB business to create accurate, appropriate and engaging training material and to ensure proper support and involvement for training programs

·         Create assessments, surveys, and other evaluation tools to measure the success of participants and training programs

·         Effectively collaborate and communicate with the CB Learning team, the larger CB Human Resources organization, and other learning and development teams throughout JPMorgan Chase

·         Mentor and develop training program participants

·         Focus on continued improvement and efficiencies in running training programs

·         Ad hoc projects as needed

 

Required Skills

·         Minimum of 5 years of commercial banking, credit, and/or underwriting experience

·         A Bachelor's degree, preferably in business – finance, economics, or accounting

·         Completion of formal credit risk training program or equivalent commercial banking experience

·         Strong understanding of, and experience applying commercial banking and credit risk fundamentals

·         Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, financial statement analysis, credit analysis, asset analysis, risk rating, loss given default, credit structuring concepts, financial modeling, and banking products

·         Experience with the commercial bank’s financial and profitability models highly desired

·         Comfort and experience instructing and presenting to large audiences - creating interactive learning experiences

·         Aptitude to manage and prioritize multiple programs and projects independently and ability to ask for guidance when needed

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and a keen attention to detail

·         Desire and ability to mentor, develop and coach program participants

·         Strong relationship building skills and ability to regularly interact with executives and senior leaders

·         Team player with a proactive "can do" attitude

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (PitchPro UB)
