Firmwide Risk Management is overseen and managed on an enterprise-wide basis. The Firm’s approach to risk management covers a broad spectrum of economic and other core risk areas, such as credit, market, liquidity, model, principal, country, operational, compliance, conduct, legal, capital and reputation risk, with controls and governance established for each area, as appropriate

 

Within the broader Risk organization, the Risk Controllers are at the heart of critical Finance-related Risk Management & Compliance initiatives driving effective governance and coordination of Finance-related programs for Risk & Compliance.  We act as trusted advisors to the Risk Operating Committee; deliver best-in-class external risk reporting and limit monitoring; and we execute and oversee controls supporting completeness and accuracy of critical Risk data used in reporting all within a rewarding and fulfilling work environment.  

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Risk Controller-SEC Risk Reporting Associate, the ideal candidate will have experience with financial reporting and analysis as well as experience in project management.  The individual will support the head of SEC Risk Reporting within the Risk Controllers organization as well as certain ad-hoc projects across Risk Controllers and assisting the Firmwide Risk Controller with ad-hoc projects.  The ideal candidate will:

 

  • Liaise with Risk Executives, Investor Relations and internal Risk Reporting teams (such as Wholesale Credit Risk, Consumer Credit Risk, etc.) to manage a comprehensive, quarter-end Credit Cost process that captures key metrics, commentary, visuals and analyses.

  • Stay up to date on the latest credit related news and trends across the financial services industry, markets, politics, etc. to anticipate potential impact(s) on the Firm.

  • Be encouraged to think creatively, challenge status quo, and deliver across a multitude of strategic objectives impacting the Firmwide Risk and Risk Controllers organizations.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Finance and Line of business partners, facilitate effective communication, and work with business teams to assess needs, understand requirements and syndicate solutions

  • Development of end-to-end frameworks to enhance processes and accountability around SEC and reporting. Implement frameworks by partnering with and seeking input from line of business teams while also ensuring Corporate driven requirements are met

  • Participate in Firm-wide strategic initiatives related to SEC and external reporting

     



Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership; experience in Risk Management, SEC / Regulatory reporting, project management
  • Established track record of delivery in a complex matrix environment, ability to flex to business changes

 

Communication / Influence:

  • Ability to understand business drivers and requirements and influence partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems

  • A developed leadership presence capable of effective messaging to colleagues and senior management alike

  • Proven ability to work across diverse groups, build consensus and execute the agreed plans

     

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently in a flexible, fast paced environment
  • Must be detail oriented, highly responsible and able to work with tight deadlines

 

Technical

  • Overall strong desktop skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office applications
