The CIB Privacy Control Group (CIB DPC) or Data Privacy Champion was initially set up in 2018 following the introduction of GDPR and expanded globally in 2019 in order for the CIB to meet the demands of the Privacy Policy Firmwide.

The CIB DPC manages the control framework for Personal Information (PI) and Client Confidential Information (CCI), as processed across JPM, including the Business Technology and Operations. The CIB DPC will also:

-  Define a sustainable controls framework that is locally compliant and globally consistent.

-  Interface with 2LoD and CIB business to raise awareness and advise on initiatives and available tools.

-  Identify strategic solutions and controls that meet current and emerging Data Privacy rules. 

-  Where strategic solutions cannot be implemented in a timely fashion, identify and advocate tactical solutions across the CIB.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of Privacy legislation and internal privacy and confidentiality policies and its application to the business.

    • Support the management and or creation of PI Inventory

    • Assist in monitoring adherence to regulatory change.

  • Assist with the governance over data privacy within the CIB, including supporting the strategy and execution of Privacy Regulation and Privacy Policies.

    • Reporting: Assist with the production of  various reporting to monitor and manage Data Privacy, including – incident, issue/AP, SEAL, CORE PRIs and KRIs (once established)

    • Inventory Management of Privacy Notices and other Data Privacy requirements

    • Training: Metric production, delinquent reporting and follow -up.

    • Incident Management – working with DPC  team to assist in administration of all aspects of the process, including recording in GLASS, Quality Control over the content, and data analysis

    • Monitoring of reconciling of Corporate tools  (i.e., Seal)

  • Assist with all aspects of the Personal Information (PI) initiative, which includes inventory creation and management.

  • Assist on Data Privacy Programs (such as Policy implementation and regulatory changes) within CIB including:

  • Program communications, both internal and external.

  • Materials and active participation in privacy committees, working groups and forums.
  • Program/project plans, risk/ issue assessments
  • Assist in evaluating and performing  ongoing analysis of the business’ risk and control environment, as it relates to Data Privacy / Information Risk,  to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks

    • Establish and monitor reporting of Issues /AP’s. 

  • Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies

  • Assist with the implementation of CORE for Data Privacy related risks/controls within CIB


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) required and data analytics preferred using Excel, Access


  • Business knowledge - ability to understand the business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business.   

  • Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence colleagues and the business in a meaningful and actionable manner
