The Global Privacy Office (GPO) is a Corporate Compliance function responsible for the development and administration of an enterprise-wide Global Privacy Program. The GPO establishes minimum privacy requirements, provides compliance training/guidance to lines of business and corporate functions, monitors the regulatory landscape, and provides management with transparency into the organization’s privacy risks and issues.



The GPO has an opportunity for an associate to focus on Governance and Oversight. This role will report directly to the Executive Director for Governance and Oversight. In this role, the associate will support the ED’s by helping to develop governance and oversight structures between the GPO and LOBs and Corporate Function Privacy Champions and Leaders and regional compliance. Additionally, this role will support the review and updating of various operating models. Other important responsibilities include the following:

  • Participate in, and support various privacy governance meetings, including Global Data Protection & Privacy Forum and GPO meetings with the firm’s Privacy Leads and Privacy Champions, by developing the agenda and identifying meeting follow-up items and actions
  • Maintain privacy intranet pages and develop privacy-related webpages for key internal stakeholders
  • Keep and update Privacy Governance documents, such as the Global Privacy Program document, organizational charts, forums, and charters
  • Administrator for Privacy sharedrive, sharepoint, distribution lists, and inboxes
  • Track GPO industry memberships and subscriptions
  •  Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience; Financial Services or Regulatory experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills a must
  • Experience drafting corporate level communications
  • Understanding of global privacy laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification preferred
  • Leadership experience with proven ability to maintain relationships, influence change and add value
  • Ability to produce high quality deliverables that require minimal modification
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Project management skills, with experience managing large-scale and time sensitive projects
  • Highly organized, extremely detail orientated fostering a transparent no surprise environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools
  • Effectively manage relationships, facilitates effective communication, and works with the senior team to assess needs, understand requirements, and develop solutions
