Coordinator, Student Communications (Grant Funded) - Central Campus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide logistical support to IT during CRM implementation to ensure student services perspective; ensure transition of communications to new CRM
  • Writes and edits student communication letters, emails, texts, blogs, student portal messages, etc.
  • Creates communication workflows, schedules and tracks communications.
  • Runs reports and tracks student communications, conversions, and effectiveness.
  • The position will coordinate with IT to create and deliver end-user training and develop ongoing assessments to ensure consistent use of the CRM.
  • Collaborates with Student Services and instructional leadership to develop student communication.
  • Manages the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Prepares reports, financial statements, and records on program activities and progress status as related to student communication and CRM.

Marginal Job Functions:
  • Creates and maintains a current internal documentation library for student communications.
  • Participates in College committees as a member of the Student Services division.
  • Attends campus leadership team meetings and meets regularly with student services and ITS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent writing skills, verbal communication skills, and technical skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts.
  • Experience with higher education Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Must possess self-discipline and be able to meet deadlines
  • Requires strong relationship building and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with student experience topics
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and to develop and complete new projects and programs with little supervision
  • Sound working knowledge of computing systems and software including student database systems, Microsoft Office Suite


Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Higher Education or related field from a regionally accredited college or university


Required Experience:
  • Three years student communication experience or related experience in written, digital, and visual media
  • One year Customer Relationship Management (CRM).


Preferred Experience:
  • Communication/marketing/public relations experience in Higher education
  • Prior experience with student communications writing
  • Experience with portal communications and management
  • Experience in configuration or implementation of a CRM system
  • Knowledge of SJC organizational practices


Salary Grade: 23
