The Control Program and Shared Services (CPSS) Issue Management Program Support team is primarily responsible for oversight and governance of the CPSS Issue Management framework. The team works across the AWM and CCB Lines of Business to establish strategic guidance and executional direction to drive consistency and adherence to Standards. The team will partner with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Corporate Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Risk and Audit among others. This position executes on the strategic initiatives being driven from both our internal Operational Risk Management function, as well as from multiple internal and external control organizations across the firm. Because of the level of leadership this position interacts with, a high degree of maturity and professionalism is required. A majority of this individual’s time will be spent on Issue Management planning, program and relationship management. Excellent communication skills are required because this position routinely interacts with employees at all levels of management in AWM and CCB. Fast and reliable decision making skills are critical in order to keep pace with the changing environment and priorities. An understanding of how to manage in a fast paced changing environment, how to work within structured decision-making constructs, knowing when to challenge topics, issues and decisions are skills that will ensure success. The ability to build relationships in a collaborative environment is critical – every decision and deliverable is interlinked to other areas not directly within this positions direct line of influence. This position may or may not manage employees.  

Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is comprehensive coverage and a joint accountability model with the business executive to promote early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. 

Control Management focuses on four areas: 
 1) Control design and expertise 
2) Risks and controls identification/assessment 
3) Control breaks and resolution 
4) Control governance & reporting 
 Role Responsibilities: 
 â€¢ Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies with sound change management protocols 
• Review, investigate and analyze program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI, trends, themes, deep dive into business processes) to support business-related programs and strategies  
• Provide influencing and leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Control Self-Assessment process, including control breaks and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk  
• Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions 
• The role partners with each AWM and CCB Issue Management Leads other key resources and leaders across AWM and CCB to lead, define, design and execute on the integration of multiple key objectives into the Controls environment. This includes yet is not limited to: 
• Coordinating strategic control initiatives across multiple lines of business 
• Identifying initiatives, timing, and horizontal cross business impacts 
• Providing guidance on issues, questions and challenges to the business 
• Influencing adherence with standards and directives 
• Understanding gaps, root cause, interdependencies and driving changes in support of the Program • Escalating issues to management to drive solutions 
• Looking for opportunities to streamline or create efficiencies in the Program 
• Facilitate Tactical meetings and material reviews 
• Maintaining transparency into status, risks and issues 
• Ensuring synergies and conflicts are recognized and addressed for holistic solutions 
• Ensure appropriate parties are engaged in initiatives that result from Change Management Process

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required 
• 7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred 
• Six Sigma methodology knowledge, a plus 
• Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate with business partners 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Skills: 
 â€¢ Business knowledge - ability to understand the business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business 
• Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner  
• Networking – exceptional interpersonal skills; exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills  
• Work autonomously to affect change – self-directed, flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment 
• Process analysis / design acumen – ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design 
• Problem solving / Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusions o Understanding root cause / identifying control breaks o Developing timely and sustainable solutions o Analyze metrics for emerging risk o Identify horizontal associations 
• Implementation skills o Write thorough and complete Action Plans o Write and advise on Procedures o Adhere to strong Change Management principles, with attention to detail • Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output, influence stakeholders and justify decision making 
 â€¢ Reporting / Analytics (e.g., collect aggregate controls reporting information for LOB-wide internal audits / exams, generate reporting, metrics, KRI/KPI, scorecards in support of evaluation of operational risk and controls, support input and reporting of LOB-wide issues and action plans) 
• Training / Guidance Writing (e.g., develop procedures, templates and guidance)  
• Tools / Technology (e.g., participate in testing of technology platforms)  
• Project Management (e.g., liaise with firmwide process leads and provide PMO support as an SME)
