This job is a member of the Finance Team within the Finance Division.  The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic programs which meet the needs of the internal stakeholders while addressing pricing, acquisition, total cost, lead-time and supply.  

What you'll do
  • Support Customer Experience Team, Crew Ad-Hoc team, and employees with securing hotels and providing logistic options
  • Identify opportunities for improvement for Corporate travel and executes in a timely manner i.e. employee booking experience, cost to AA, hotel inventory, etc.
  • Be able to think of out of the box solutions to get employees to utilize the corporate booking tool
  • Leverage other internal team relationships with hotels for a cohesive strategy including multiple workgroups
  • Get ahead of the curve as far as providing employees options proper logistic options to get to and from work related activities
  • Become a strategic partner with internal business units; being able to extract, analyze, and draw conclusions of data to present to management
  • Serve as a project manager helping prioritize projects and clearly communicating status to team
  • Create, negotiate, implement and manage long-term purchase agreements while effectively developing and promoting strategic partnerships with suppliers
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, services required and the broader operational processes

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Procurement and Supply Chain
  • Data analytics and planning experience in one or more airline areas
  • Knowledge of Source to Pay systems
  • Strong project management skills
  • Vendor Relationship Management

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • ​A potential team leader with strong communication skills
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts, with work experience applying those concepts
  • Ability to understand and negotiate complex pricing and financial/commercial implications of contracts
  • Advanced business understanding- particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis
  • Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting, quality improvement and deriving strategic business plans for services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
