CB is comprised of Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries, Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries, Real Estate Banking, Commercial Term Lending and Community Development Banking. 

 

Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides loan servicing functions for all four JPMorgan lines of business.  These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndication loan and trade processing, credit administration, collateral perfection and insurance servicing.  Within WLS, this role is accountable for oversight of the Central Insurance Team (CIT). 

 

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) and the firm’s non-flood wholesale lending insurance policy; insurance process oversight, strategy, initiatives, execution, training, audit readiness and client interaction; and providing insurance services for multiple lines of business.  This individual will be a member of the WLS Collateral, Documentation and Insurance senior leadership team and manage a staff of approximately 50 employees located in different geographies.  The role requires developing strong internal partnerships with the business areas supported, as well as with Compliance, Audit, Risk and Legal.  This role ensures that the Insurance strategy is aligned to support WLS’s framework and goals.  The position requires a results-focused, visionary, influential and operations-disciplined leader to deliver key objectives. 

 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Owns global central insurance team, ensuring compliance with federal and firm insurance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for standard operating procedures, job aids and process maps
  • Possesses strong insurance knowledge; serves as an insurance Subject Matter Expert
  • Serves as a trusted insurance advisor to line of businesses supported by WLS and continuously advances the team’s knowledge of insurance regulations, policies, processes and best practices
  • Exhibits ownership in managing partnerships by working closely with cross-functional stakeholders  including Risk Operations, Regulatory Operations, Compliance, Audit, Legal and Finance 
  • Knowledgeable of end-to-end insurance processes in order to ensure consistency (as appropriate) across lines of business
  • Drives consistency in how production is measured and reported, including service level agreements, backlogs, capacity plans and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborates with the Operational Risk group to design quality scorecards and ensure consistent review with the ability to accurately report quality results
  • Collaborates with the Operational Risk group to document Action Plans and implement appropriate operating model changes
  • Thinks strategically as well as tactically to design and implement deliverables, with the flexibility to adjust to new innovations, regulations and priorities
  • Builds cohesive, winning teams through strong communication and involvement with all team members
  • Attracts and retains the best diverse talent in a competitive market
  • Manages and directs overall team production, quality, engagement and staff development
  • Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly
  • Anticipates and resolves both customer and internal business partner insurance issues with a sense of urgency
  • Continuously looks for process consistency, improvements and best practices across insurance servicing functions; engages the team in continuous improvement thinking to improve processes and business partner/client experience
  • Fosters an environment where risk/control issues are escalated and trends anticipated/identified
  • Integrates effective change management and training techniques to drive end user adoption
  • Leads or participates in partner meetings to provide change/status updates as appropriate

Initially Ft. Worth, TX.  Location transitions to Plano in 2020 or 2021


Required Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of operations management or related experience, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, planning and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operations environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, to multiple levels of management
  • Ability to lead, challenge and adapt in a changing business landscape
  • Ability to focus on the key issues and drive initiatives to conclusion; results oriented
  • Strong relationship management and partnership skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others
 
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Credentialed insurance professional
  • BA/BS Degree
