The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Credit Support team is part of the Wholesale Lending Services Credit Proposal Center of Excellence (COE) and provides credit administrative support primarily responsible for maintaining Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI) data integrity for the CRE portfolio and managing the processing of credit proposals.  The Credit Proposal COE is more broadly part of Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) which services several lines of businesses within JPMorgan Chase, including Business Banking, Global Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Commercial Banking.  The group consists of approximately 1,300 employees worldwide who provide global end-to-end origination and credit risk support, deal closing & funding, collateral & document review, loan servicing, trade confirmations & settlement and syndicated/agent bank booking & account management. Overall, WLS is responsible for support of over $500 billion in loans outstanding.

 

The CRE Credit Support team provides credit support to Commercial Real Estate (CRE), which is comprised of three sub lines of business within Commercial Banking:  Real Estate Banking (REB), Community Development (CDB) and Commercial Term Lending (CTL).  CRE provides property owners, developers and investors the financial resources they need for real estate investments large and small. These include multifamily lending, commercial mortgage lending, community development, real estate banking and treasury services.

 

Position

As a Credit Support Specialist supporting CRE, you are the owner of credit related data in all of the systems utilized by the business, including iCRD Credit Proposals and Party Central.  You will work closely with the Credit Risk team on a daily basis. The data that the CSS owns drives accurate exposure reporting, capital allocation, and customer profitability reporting among others. The CSS is responsible for accurately setting up customers and their related facilities during client onboarding as well as ongoing maintenance. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Credit Proposal Processing - Related Activities

  • Initiate credit facility proposals in iCRD for new facilities, existing facilities and data maintenance

  • Ability to quickly interpret credit approval requirements in relation to JPMC Risk Policies and consistently apply the requirements within daily activities

  • Ensure credit requests, queries, and issues sent to the team are actioned accurately and timely in accordance with stated procedures and policies

  • Update Credit Proposals as needed prior to release based on changes made during negotiation; finalize dates

  • Attach supporting documents to the credit proposal

  • Route proposals for approval

  • Complete/Release proposals

  • Cancel facilities related to paid off deals

Credit Data Management & Other Responsibilities

  • Manage credit data in Client Central (credit family structures, credit transfers, coverage roles)

  • Execute data remediation projects

  • Monitor various data reports for accuracy and correct any errors

  • Remain current on all Policies, Procedures, and Guidance documents


Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in loan/product operations or a credit/lending environment

  • General experience with related credit systems such as ARC/iCRD Proposals, Party Central, eClips, iCRD Desktop. To include an aptitude to quickly learn and understand relevant systems and applications including upstream/downstream linkages

  • Good understanding of credit loan products (revolving lines of credit, term loans, commercial cards, etc.) and operating exposures (ACH, Intra-day limits, etc.)

  • Experience with real estate secured loans is beneficial

  • General knowledge of financial exposure and ability to understand simple to moderate customer structures

  • Ability to build and maintain excellent partnerships and relationships throughout the CB, including Credit Underwriters, Credit Risk, Wholesale Lending Services and Middle Office Credit Support groups, etc

  • Must be capable of balancing and prioritizing in a time sensitive environment

  • Must maintain a high level of accuracy with attention to detail, with high standards for personal performance

  • Demonstrate excellent judgement, initiative, ownership, and accountability

  • Strong problem solving skills to get to the root cause of issues and resolve them

  • Self-starter able to prioritize key tasks effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic competency in PC and Microsoft applications
