Commercial Banking (CB) serves more than 30,000 clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. The Firm's broad platform positions the Commercial Bank to deliver extensive product capabilities - lending, treasury services, investment banking, and asset management - to meet our clients' domestic and international financial needs.


Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within the Commercial Bank and provides a broad array of syndicated and bi-lateral loan servicing support to the Firm’s Wholesale Lending Businesses.  These functions include Loan Documentation Prep & Coordination, Credit Administration, Deal Closing/Funding, Credit Compliance Monitoring, Agent and Non-Agent Loan Servicing, Trade Processing, and Collateral Perfection/ Management.


The Quality Manager will be responsible to manage Quality Assurance teams under the governance of Risk and Control.  The Quality Manager’s focus will be on optimizing performance and Quality results for the WLS operations team more broadly as well as deliver Quality Assurance Testing on a day to day basis.  

Core Responsibilities:
  • Leadership for the WLS Quality Program.
  • Partner in the continued transformation of the Quality program across the operations
  • Foster a positive team environment, team development & succession planning, promote team motivation, recognition and coach staff.
  • Responsible for the development of error analyses including root cause evaluation and development of any process change recommendations for operations teams
  • Develop and support strategic data analysis of QA and BAU production
  • Maintain a dynamic and comprehensive resource capacity model that ensures compliance with established service level agreements and partner expectations
  • Recommend and implement resource and/or process changes to improve service performance
  • Partner closely with operational executives, technology and other key stakeholders to develop effective quality programs
  • Lead Quality projects and deliverables as assigned
  • Present Monthly results and updates at various Governance and Line of Business Executive Management Review meetings.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement agenda by suggesting process and procedure improvement ideas as well as training and communication opportunities discovered from the quality review process.
  • Publicly recognizes successes of others through internal forums
  • Ownership of internal communication and status updates to all involved parties.

Required Qualifications: 
  • BS/BA Degree
  • 7 -10 years financial services experience with minimum 5 years of Quality or Process management expertise
  • MBA or Certification (CPA or CIA), a plus.
  • Knowledge of risk management tools 
  • Lean, Six Sigma or other similar process quality tool experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance testing methodologies, including risk based sampling methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and drive quality improvement solutions 
  • Demonstrated experience making independent critical fact based decisions while understanding the appropriate escalation points
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, planning skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of management, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to isolate the root cause
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of commercial loan operations environment and corresponding regulations and laws
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills  
  • Strong relationship management skills
