Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides lending servicing functions to each of the firm’s four lines of business.  These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndicated/bilateral loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management.

 

Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides lending servicing functions to each of the firm’s four lines of business.  These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndicated/bilateral loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management. This position is responsible for providing leadership and execution of strategy for the North American Structured Products Agency servicing group within WLS. Currently, many tasks focused on strategic/business initiatives and quality assurance fall on production staff for planning and delivery. The Associate will collaborate with a team of industry experts to own these important agenda.  Core responsibilities include 1) representing the Structured Products organization on several strategic and business initiatives, 2) providing support for production staff via training on existing & evolving product offerings and 3) Enhance the client experience through strategy execution and staff empowerment.

 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 2-3 professional level staff who will be responsible for executing and implementing business initiatives and strategy for the North America Agency servicing functions. 
  • Represent the Structured Products organization in planning and execution of various business and functional initiatives (CLP rollout, workflow standardization, query management enhancement etc.)
  • Attend various planning sessions in person, provide meaningful feedback that captures operational components.
  • Partner with project sponsors to help facilitate analytical discussions and provide recommendations based on best practices
  • New processes and enhancements: identify, develop, document, communicate and train
  • Effectively collaborate across products and teams (i.e. Agency, TCP, Trading, Technology) on initiatives and change implementation
  • Effectively manage LIQ defects and enhancements – testings, prioritizations, implementing and documenting process changes amidst evolving landscape.
  • Overhaul the procedures for the wholesale Agency Servicing organization – identify opportunities to enhance / create procedures covering comprehensive Agency servicing aspects, eliminate redundancies, identify consistency opportunities and implement changes to enhance the client, user and business partner experience.
  • Represent the Agency servicing function in business and control forums – BCC, business partnership calls etc.
  • Identify key risks/issues within the project efforts or Agency function broadly, escalating as appropriate with ability to articulate effectively.
  • Develop a formal training program for the Agency Servicing function. Conduct formalized staff trainings (new joiner and ongoing) with dedicated focus on the structured product – complexities, product nuances, cross LOB impacts, technology (LIQ), and evolving processes driven by strategic initiatives or regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have 5+ years in the financial services market, loan operations and/or loan technology
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills with ability to turn findings into strategic recommendations/suggestions
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools, gain and synthesize insights and develop solutions; creative thinker with strategic mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of management, both written and verbal
  • Communicates and presents fluently and with confidence
  • Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Strong problem solving and judgment skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
