CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others


As part of the CCB Home Lending Risk Management team, you will be the department’s Business Manager, managing projects and deliverables across the Strategic Analytics and Data department.  This vice president role is responsible for leading departmental projects, reviewing and providing thought leadership on materials prepared for senior management, and assisting with the administration of a department made up of over 80 risk professionals.  You will work alongside the head of the department to execute their book of work, as well as act as a sounding board/trusted advisor to the leaders on the team.


This role primarily supports the Head of Home Lending Risk Strategic Analytics and Data, and provides matrixed support to six executives that make up the department’s management team.


Project Lead:

  • Lead department-wide projects, ensuring bottom up tasks (such as preparing annual objectives, tracking accomplishments, building team books of work, estimating workload efforts for recurring tasks, etc.) are completed consistently and correctly across the management team.

  • Collect, review and provide feedback on content and commentary prepared for senior management and regulators.

    • Suggest commentary edits to adequately address the root cause of unusual trends, craft comparisons to expectations (forecast, industry, benchmarks) and offer strategic recommendations to address undesirable risk taking.

    • Lead consolidation efforts to resize presentations, and summarize key storylines into executive summaries of varying length as needed.

    • Audit materials to ensure they were prepared correctly (numbers tie across pages, to prior months’ reports, and to other reports/dashboards produced by the team), allowing for management approval/signoff.

  • Help drive departmental top priorities by assisting in project planning, driving collaborative meetings to help further the projects’ progress, sharing weekly updates on project status - ensuring visibility and timely escalation of issues to head of department for remediation.

  • Proactively create and manage new projects as necessary to further the team’s priorities and goals.

  • Collect and consume information from team reports and presentations to proactively answer adhoc requests on behalf of the management team.

  • Act as the central point of contact between Home Lending Risk’s CAO team and the Strategic Analytics and Data department which includes gathering information and delivering on all assigned tasks.

  • Properly define the agenda and content diagram for the different touch points head of Strategic Analytics and Data conducts with their direct reports. (weekly, biweekly, monthly calls)

  • Run weekly staff meetings with a prepared agenda to ensure coverage of administrative and informational items that do not overlap with other content meetings held during the month / quarter.

  • Maintain calendar of key deliverables and ensure the management team is aware of important due dates, as well as team calendar for travel, vacation, and other out of office events.

  • Accountable for coordinating monthly and quarterly meetings and materials / presentations as it relates to the head of Strategic Analytics and Data book of work and objectives (ie: Business Review, Committee materials)

  • Prepare and help to schedule monthly manager meetings and quarterly Town Hall presentations including determining topics, speakers and addressing what people want to know.

  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve team efficiencies. 

  • Participate or lead team culture events on behalf of the management team.

  • Be able to maintain strict confidence on confidential materials, situational awareness on when and where to take confidential phone calls or meetings that will likely cover confidential topics for Chase Home Lending.



  • 4+ years of consumer credit risk experience, preferably within the home lending space

    • Will also consider audit, loan review and similar third line experience in lieu of credit risk

  • 6+ years in a project management role with an exceptional track record of running complex, matrixed projects

  • 1+ year experience as a business manager or similar role/responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a finance, economics or business related field of study; Master’s degree or MBA a plus.

  • Success in managing urgent same-day projects as well as planning and executing multi-phase, longer term projects.

  • Experience managing and influencing in a matrixed organization, including influencing senior management

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to be used in evaluation and interpretation of data

  • Clear business writing, communication, and presentation skills with an attention to quality and detail

  • Ability cultivate partnerships and deal effectively with difficult stakeholders

  • Highest level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency

  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines, respond immediately to escalated issues and rapidly changing priorities with minimal supervision

  • Extremely organized, effective priority management and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to maintain professional documentation for internal and external reporting/audit purposes

  • Operate with a strong risk and control mindset

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
