The Candidate

The Head of Research distribution will report to Head of Sales and Research Transformation and Implementation.  The role is based in New York.

In this challenging, high-profile role, and the candidate will support the Global Research business develop a strategy for external distribution of research content and lead the execution of this distribution strategy.  This would include curation of content, developing and coordinating a strategy around email, web-based, mobile, social media and third party research distribution in written, verbal or video formats.  The goal would be to enhance the already strong brand of J.P. Morgan’s Research and to create a segmented and focused strategy around different types of clients and channels.  The person would be central to coordinating the distribution strategy with external partners and vendors as well.  Longer term, the subjective elements of the role would be supported with a strong foundation of data-driven insights.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a dynamic distribution strategy for J.P. Morgan Research
  • Coordinate closely with the research teams and sales to curate content for specific client profiles, including macro and micro
  • Play an editorial role in context of content on J.P. Morgan’s external research website and media channels
  • Lead a small global team to provide round the clock/globe coverage
  • Develop, maintain and foster relationships at all levels internally, including senior leaders, peers, and the broader team
  • Uphold a strong commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and employees
  • Maintain a passion for protecting and enhancing the reputation of our firm

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:


  • Versatility in executing various writing styles and voices, including journalistic and executive writing
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent ability to collaborate and build a network of relationships at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a collaborative way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources

  • Understanding of a broad set of financial markets; previous experience in Research industry is desirable
  • Ability to manage large-scale, complex projects with discipline and precision
  • Proven managerial skills of managing a small team and being accountable to multiple stakeholders
  • Creative mindset and ability to generate big, new ideas and take (smart) risks
  • Speed, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding judgment, problem-solving ability and resourcefulness
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial media, sell-side research or content distribution    
  • Exposure to data-driven distribution techniques is a strong positive
