  • ​This job is a member of the Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • Responsible for providing technical support for a wide variety of chemicals and materials (including plating baths, cleaning solutions, paints, sealants, adhesives, tapes, lubricants, metals, composites, plastics, corrosion inhibiting compounds and other industrial and commercial products).
What you'll do
  • Performs qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analyses required for chemicals and products based on the certificate of analysis
  • Identifies materials and measures pH, viscosity and specific gravity
  • Conducts wet chemistry titrations to determine the concentration of certain materials
  • Performs preventative maintenance, calibrations and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Follows lab Standard Operating Procedures, company standards and laboratory best practices
  • Accomplishes other technical duties as required by department management
  • Develops, updates and improves chemical analysis and testing procedures
  • Coordinates with Training to develop, update and improve training materials and methods related to chemicals and chemical products
  • Works in conjunction with department and maintenance personnel and industry experts to develop and implement processes and improvements related to chemicals and chemical products
  • Provides technical updates to Management and other employees via email, presentations, SharePoint and lab reports
  • Prioritizes responsibilities and adjust work plans accordingly
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field. Equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years relevant work experience
  • Hands on experience with analytical equipment and wet chemistry techniques

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​2 years experience working as a Chemist in an airline, industrial and/or commercial environment accomplishing the work outlined in the Essential Job Functions section

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and have the ability to plan and accomplish testing and analysis
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong knowledge of TruChem software or similar Solution Control Databases
