The Team: Chase Pay is a key digital innovation and growth initiative for JP Morgan Chase. Chase Pay is a digital wallet and ecommerce shopping solution that provides simple, rewarding and secure buying experiences for Chase’s 60+M debit and credit customers. Launched in 2016, Chase Pay is accelerating our efforts to partner with merchants across multiple industries and channels to expand Chase Pay usage and availability for our customers.

The VP, Relationship Manager will be a key strategic partner to both existing and newly acquired Chase Pay merchant partners. Expanding and optimizing these merchant partnerships in order to deliver value to merchants and consumers is a critical driver of Chase Pay success in market. The successful candidate will work across internal JPMC stakeholders to craft and deliver customized Chase Pay value propositions- inclusive of digital marketing campaigns- to grow share and loyalty for our merchant partners and Chase overall.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand relationships with key external merchant partners and stakeholders across multiple levels/functions;

  • Serve as a highly credible and experienced single point of contact for our merchant partners throughout their life cycle with Chase Pay- from onboarding and implementation through strategy development and campaign execution;

  • Optimize merchant engagement and partnerships across all aspects of the firm wherever possible;

  • Understand merchant objectives, industry trends, key competitors in order to create and balance value for merchants and Chase Pay.

  • Deliver annual strategic plans, contract renewals, and quarterly business updates to merchant partners.

  • Champion merchant feedback and use cases to Chase Pay Product teams.

  • Advocate merchant needs and Chase value to internal partners across multiple lines of business within the firm.

  • Partner with internal JPMC stakeholders and colleagues to deliver incremental firm-wide value to Chase Pay merchants.

  • Work closely with internal Marketing, Implementation, Product, and Legal teams to execute against merchant strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Experienced partnership and business development professional (10+ years) with demonstrated success within the digital/payments space.

  • Executive presence with ability to convey credible C-level messaging to merchant partner leadership teams across a variety of industries.

  • Clear, concise and persuasive verbal and written communication skills with ability to craft strategy and business cases from a blank page.

  • Ability to influence internally and externally by building strong networks predicated on respect and value creation/delivery.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to connect the dots across the big picture opportunity while also executing efficiently and with impact.

  • High energy, positive, can-do mentality with willingness to roll up their sleeves to win in the market.

  • Flexible with ability to manage ambiguity and create clarity in a highly dynamic business environment.

  • Must demonstrate curiosity, independent problem solving skills and desire to have fun.

  • Solutions oriented with strong bias toward action.

  • Expert Excel and Powerpoint skills to build compelling C-level business cases.

  • Ecommerce and mobile payments experience a plus.
