Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

 

The Mortgage Credit Forecast Modeling and Analytics Vice President will primarily be responsible for developing strategic analytics and forecast innovation and analyzing the default mortgage servicing forecast to determine the necessity of overlays. This role also includes analyzing monthly reports to explain results for senior management.

 

This role requires strong data analytical knowledge and skills in order to identify the multiple segments and investors within the data that will need to be part of the qualitative model and to determine the accuracy of the forecast or the underlying causes of forecast errors. Creating materials and presenting to senior management for model output, forecast results, forecast performance and the outcome of the model development will also be regularly required. Quick and agile thinking is required, as this role is responsible for addressing ad hoc questions and inquiries from senior management.

 

The successful candidate will excel at communication and problem solving, be exceptionally organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.   The position requires strong writing, reporting and time management skills and must execute the following objectives:

 
  • Analyze forecast results to identify and recommend improvement opportunities

  • Develop qualitative model for simplified forecast process

  • Investigate industry data to check loan performance
  • Build/develop overlays as necessary to improve the accuracy of forecast

  • Train and mentor junior analysts in the team
  • Create materials and present forecast results to senior management

  • Address ad hoc inquiries under shortened timelines
  • Coordinate with multiple lines of business to determine underlying root causes for forecast errors and for identifying operational changes that could impact future forecast performance

    

  • Master’s degree in a Quantitative discipline, mathematics, statistics, applied math, data science

  • 5+ years of SQL and/or SAS experience
  • 5+ years of related analytical experience
  • Mortgage banking experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills - a highly motivated, confident, team player

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT)
  • Strong priority management and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong data programming skills that includes experience with Hadoop, R, Spark, Teradata and Python

  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to synthesize disparate data sources into actionable information

  • Written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings across all levels of the organization

  • Strong project management skills.  Ability to achieve tight timelines on complex deliverables

  • Self-starter.  Proven ability to deliver results with limited supervision
