CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others 


The Fraud Risk VP will be part of the Acquisition Fraud risk team in Consumer Banking Risk Management (CBRM). The team is responsible for developing and managing the risk strategy and fraud detection to support Chase Wealth Management which includes full service and digital wealth management brokerage account originations. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and developing key fraud risk controls/operational procedures for acquisition fraud risk and delivering high quality analysis. The successful candidate will excel at creative thinking and problem solving; be self-motivated, confident and ready to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment.


 Responsibilities for this individual include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage operational and risk metrics, develop new processes such as adverse action letters, resolve control gaps and support updates/changes to digital on-boarding flow.
  • Develop innovative fraud prevention strategies (both CWM risk & card funding strategy) using public as well as proprietary data
  • Acquire Consumer banking and Chase Wealth Management business expertise in the accounts origination processes, operational review and digital on-boarding.
  • Collaborate and partner with other departments such as Finance, Digital, Operations, Marketing and Product Management based on business requirements.
  • Coordinate with IT, Systems and Operations partners to implement new projects as required
  • Work with Credit bureaus to build underwriting strategies that help predict the right product for each applicant.
  • Develop innovative fraud prevention strategies using public as well as proprietary data in order to verify an applicant’s identity and prevent fraud.
  • Provide analytic support and timely reporting for the successful implementation of various De-risking initiatives.
  • Conduct Data extraction and ADHOC analysis to support the broader CWM Fraud Risk team as necessary.



  • 5+ years of experience in financial services required.
  • Prior Fraud risk, data analytics, operational risk & controls experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience  in querying databases (Teradata, SQL Server), and using SAS a plus
  • Experience in dealing with large volumes of data and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with people and functions across the organization. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Proven ability to develop solutions to complex problems, including problems that are process oriented and involve significant review of transactional data.
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, problem/solution/business value descriptions that can be understood by a broad audience in a time sensitive environment
