CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others


This is a lead role on the Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting team within the “Run The Bank” Fraud Risk organization, which is responsible for utilizing data and analytics to develop fraud prevention strategies for check deposits, cash withdrawals, QuickPay, Bill Pay, wire transfers, and ACH transactions. 

The VP on the Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting team will take a lead role on a team 2-3 analysts/associates and will be responsible for directing analytical research / deep-dives, developing new reporting / dashboards, designing business-cases for new technology, and partnering with project managers and technology teams to provide metrics to monitor pilot programs.




  • Identify unique solutions to prevent fraud and reduce expenses while improving the customer experience through the use of data and analytics. 

  • Directing analysts who will be pairing new / unexplored data with existing data sources, validating and cross-checking results against multiple systems, and proactively researching gaps.

  • Responsible for simplifying the results of these analytics into simple-to-understand presentations for senior management.

  • Creating clean, concise data visualizations in Powerpoint and crafting a story around the data is critical for this role.   

  • Continuously improve metrics/reporting used to monitor, detect, and explain fraud trends

  • Responsible for ensuring we are tracking the correct metrics and that the data behind those metrics are stable and reliable. 

  • Monitoring existing data sources for trends and escalating issues quickly. 

  • Developing new metrics / new dashboards to track pilot programs or new technology, and monitoring those dashboards for trends. 

  • Attention to detail, diligent analytics, and developing a feel for the numbers is important in this space

    • 5+ years of professional experience, experience in risk management preferred
    • Demonstrated experience with data analysis, designing & analyzing experiments, and simplifying/communicating complex topics
    • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
    • Experience in other statistical data tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, Tableau, etc.) is a plus, but not required
    • Candidate must possess intellectual curiosity to learn about the space
    • Must have a passion for data manipulation and deriving meaningful information from large datasets
    • Must be able to take a balanced approach to solving business issues, carefully weighing tradeoffs between losses, revenue, overall profitability, and delivering an exceptional experience for Chase customers
    • Must be comfortable in a leadership role with oversight responsibilities of analysts/associates
