CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

We’re looking for a risk manager who has an appetite to keep up with fast-changing technology – who can apply a solid control-background to ensure Chase builds Digital products that innovate and protect our customers and the bank.

What a Digital Risk Manager Does
  • Meets regularly with his or her partners in product development to understand both their long-term plans and short term activities and is a trusted advisor they can count on while maintaining independence

  • Looks for strategic risk
  • Evaluates new concepts or modifications to existing services to ensure that the business has identified all the risks and has included appropriate controls to mitigate operational and reputation risk

  • Knows the products and services they oversee just as well as the business

  • Has a working knowledge of applicable bank policy and regulation to escalate issues appropriately to Compliance and Legal partners

  • Has a working knowledge of controls outside of Digital that are used to mitigate inherent risk in Digital

  • Reliably represents the interests of other internal stakeholders in risk management

  • Collaborates with the business to solve problems but escalates within the risk management framework when the business exposes the bank to risk in an unsafe way

  • Stays abreast of new/changes in technology and Digital financial services both

  • Stays abreast of industry threats and risks

  • Deconstructs and explains complex concepts and issues in a business-friendly manner to senior/executive management

  • Bachelor degree required; Masers a plus

  • Five + years in a control function (Audit, Controls, Operational Risk Management, Information Risk Management) or other relevant function

  • Experience with digital/mobile banking, payments, and/or other emerging technologies 

  • Prior experience in financial services or FIN Tech highly desired

  • Subject matter expertise in authentication and/or fraud management highly desired

  • Working understanding of machine learning

  • Familiarity with agile development methodology

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to defend positions with quantitative analysis

  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technically oriented individuals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Ability to work within a team

  • Familiarity with process engineering and root cause analysis a plus

  • CISSP, CISA or other applicable certification a plus
