Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

Role and Responsibilities:
 

This critical role is responsible for developing Payment Fraud Detection Strategies and provide Risk oversight in Chase Merchant Services.

  • Apply complex mathematical models and assess the accuracy of statistical models to predict fraudulent credit-card transactions and fraudulent merchant applications
  • Leverage advanced analytical skills to compress large amounts of data into short and concise presentations and communicate actionable business insights to senior management
  • Innovative problem solving, analysis and reporting to develop effective transaction monitoring strategies and mitigate payment fraud risks
  • Collaborate across business functions to identify and remediate key financial, credit, fraud, and reputational risks. 
  • Ensure compliance with Chase Merchant Service risk requirements and firm-wide policy throughout Credit and Risk operations teams.
  • Identify and resolve issues that create gaps or weaknesses in CMS Credit and Risk Management processes.



 

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline; Information Systems, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, credit card or payments industry – focused on analytics.
  • Strong technical skills with advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, MS office and Tableau  
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Strong critical thinking with passion for solving business problem using analytical support.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present findings to Senior Management
  • Strong understanding of analytics concepts, ability to interpret and analyze large datasets with diverse information, develop recommendations & reporting.  
  • Strong P&L knowledge and understanding of drivers of profitability
