Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others




The Risk Analyst will be key member of the Risk Management and Strategic Analytics team within Chase Home Lending.  The ideal candidate must exhibit an understanding of the business, tactical and strategic processes involved with utilizing data and analytics to support the various lines of business, including Mortgage Originations.  In this role, the Risk Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with management and staff in the development and implementation of all projects and/or initiatives related to operational goals and/or process improvement directives. 


In this entry level role, we are looking for a diligent, driven individual to join our Risk team. A successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with peers and business partners. The position is ideal for a entrepreneurial, motivated self-starter who is eager to learn and grow their career in Risk at JPMorgan Chase. 


Position requires a strong analytical skill set and must execute the following objectives:

  • Summarize large volume of loan or customer data into executive friendly summary tables

  • Analyzing the data, identifying unusual or unexpected trends

  • Performing root cause analysis, determining the reasons for the trends, and assessing the risk those trends present to the firm

  • Documenting those findings into PowerPoint slides, to be shared with senior management

  • Develop and prepare business analysis and recommendations

  • Creation and/or maintenance of reporting and dashboards

  • Properly documenting monthly procedures and ensuring controls are adequately followed

  • Be responsive to follow up questions or ad-hoc project requests, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and with a high degree of accuracy.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience required.

  • Prior experience working in a large financial institution, or completing similar objectives as noted above.

    • Work experience in home lending or risk management is a plus.

  • Must possess strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and problem solving skills to be used in evaluation and interpretation of data.

    • Intermediate experiencing writing code, such as SAS, SQL, or Python is a plus.

    • Some experience with tableau, other self-serve and/or automation tools is a plus.

  • Be able to adapt to various technology environments to support data & analytics.

  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner.

  • Work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment and effectively meet deadlines.

  • Thoroughness and attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and strong work ethic.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
