CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others


This is a role on the Digital Fraud Strategy & Analytics team within the “Run The Bank” Fraud Risk organization.   The Run The Bank organization is responsible for utilizing data and analytics to develop fraud prevention strategies for check deposits, cash withdrawals, QuickPay, Bill Pay, wire transfers, and other transactions that fraudsters attempt to exploit.  We use fraud models and risk rules to prevent unauthorized transactions, protecting our customer and our firm from losses.  The associate will work in the check fraud strategy and analytics team. 

The primary objective of the team is to prevent fraud and reduce expenses while improving the customer experience through the use of data and analytics. We are seeking self-motivated individuals with intellectual curiosity and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

 

We are seeking a candidate who has highly developed analytical skills; who is capable of understanding and simplifying large amounts of data from various data sources, leveraging and understanding new capabilities, and using data to draw conclusions. A successful candidate in this role will be a continuous learner with intellectual curiosity, who is comfortable with undefined or new processes.

 
This role will be expected to:
  • Interface with Digital Fraud Innovation Strategy and Capabilities team understand upcoming initiatives (New Product, Machine learning Model etc) for Digital to provide insights into emerging loss risk created by the new products/services

  • Understand the existing available data as well as new data that may be relevant for new products, to ensure risk has required capabilities to develop risk based strategies.

  • Determine appropriate reporting (KRIs, KPIs) for post launch and work with reporting resources to build and launch.

  • Ability to develop new creative solutions to challenges presented by fraud activity leveraging outside the box thinking.
  • Manipulate and understand large amounts of complex data to monitor and uncover behaviors and trends in fraudulent activity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex data into a clear story to team members as well as senior leaders.
  • A desire to work as part of a team, and ability to work with cross functional teams
  • The ability to develop new fraud fighting products by designing requirements and working with technical business partners to implement these products using agile design methodology
  • The ability to work on diverse tasks and respond to emerging issues
  • Candidate should have a passion for problem solving

    • A minimum of 4 years related data analytics work experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in data analysis, economics, mathematics, statistics, or other analytical discipline
    • Preference given to candidates with a graduate degree, Analytical discipline preferred
    • Must have work related experience in data analytics and reporting using SAS.
    • Must have experience in SQL using various tools such as Toad, SQLdeveloper etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a machine learning environment, using big data analytical based tools; experience with Tableau and Trifacta a plus
    • Must be able to collate from various data sources (data warehouses, different database environments) and analyze large amounts of data and summarize findings for various audiences, including senior management
    • Must have proven ability to work with large-scale/complex issues and work effectively across functional and organizational lines
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and react to changes efficiently and effectively
    • Must be able to take a balanced approach to solving business issues, including ability to weigh trade-offs between losses, revenue, overall profitability, and delivering an exceptional experience for Chase customers
    • Ability to independently prioritize a book of work across competing priorities and projects, while consistently meeting deadlines
    • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • SAS basic and advanced certification a plus
    • Experience with NICE Actimize vendor products a plus
    • Experience with and understanding of Digital banking products a plus
