Job Description Summary
Reporting directly to the Vice President of External Relations, the Manager is part of the External Relations leadership team. The Manager leads the core operations functions of the division and provides 'chief of staff' and administrative support for the Vice President. The Manager will lead key division processes such as budgeting, forecasting, contracting, CRM and procurement. The manager will be responsible for creating and implementing core division processes such as sales compensation and invoicing. The Manager will take on high priority, mission critical projects at the direction of the VP and will work closely with the VP to prepare presentations and meetings. The Manager will provide administrative support for the VP including calendaring and travel.

The Manager will work with a variety of people across the division and the entire university. This role requires someone comfortable multi-tasking, prioritizing and someone not afraid to work with ambiguity. To be successful, the Manager will need to have the confidence to ask for clarification and present options when no perfect solution exists. This is a fast-paced role where a wide variety of skills are required every day.

Essential Duties
  • Create, implement and lead core operational processes for the division such as budgeting, revenue forecasting, CRM, sales compensation and procurement of services from outside vendors.
  • Represent the division at key university meetings and events.
  • Partner closely with the VP to prepare for meetings and presentations, and create presentation materials.
  • Organize meetings and events for the VP and the division
  • Take on special projects in support of External Relations revenue growth.
  • Provide administrative support for the VP including calendaring, travel and other ad hoc support

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience creating and implementing operational processes within a team and matrixed environment
  • Able to organize professional and client events and meetings
  • Understanding of budgets and able to manage the budgeting process with appropriate support from VP and others
  • Proficient in Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Excel and able to partner with VP to create professional presentations
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Work Environment
  • Typical office setting with sitting and computer work
  • Ability to travel to meetings both within campus and to external locations
