General Description: Niagara County Community College has a vacancy for a full-time, 10 month, tenure-track Biology/Anatomy & Physiology Instructor position. This position is contained in the Division of Science, Health, and Mathematics of the college. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching in lecture and laboratory settings, and advising students throughout the academic year in the Science, Health, and Mathematics Division. Courses responsible for teaching may include General Biology I and II, Human Biology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and/or Microbiology.

These classes are held at NCCC's main campus located in Sanborn, NY

The start date of this position will be late August for the beginning of the Fall 2020 Semester.

Typical Work ActivitiesEssential Functions:
• Teach and advise students in the Biology department
• Actively participate as a member of a committee, representing the Science, Health, and Mathematics Division
• Attend and participate in division meetings

Essential Functions: Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to advise students for classes, transfer options and career advice in the field. Ability to be an active member in the division and serve on committees representing the division. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Biology or related field, or Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology or related field is required;
• 1 year of full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Ph.D in Biology or related field
• Instructional experience at a community/technical college or four-year college with emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Human Biology, and/or Microbiology within the last five years.
