The Big Data Application Support Lead will be a member of Data Management Production Support team under Production Management Organization –Data Management organization is responsible for all production platforms supporting and operating the CCB Data Eco System for all CCB LOBs that includes managing the Integrated Consumer Data Warehouse (ICDW) including more than 1 PB Teradata database, more than 40K ETL jobs, BI reporting and Hadoop.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to work in Big Data Platform such as Hadoop, Cassandra.
  • Gain good exposure to latest technology on the Data Management platform.
  • Manage Support mainly during US day time as mature India team will handle support during the night.
  • Review production ready changes to ensure they have satisfied all the non-functional requirements.
  • Partner with development teams, infrastructure, and other support organizations to have a permanent fix for the problems we encounter.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Production readiness and Problem resolution. 

  • Engaging and partnering with AD teams, and various platform owners like Teradata, ETL, BI, etc. and also interfacing with executive and senior management.

  • Ensure that the applications meet their required service levels.

  • Perform service transition from development to support.

  • Effectively perform root cause analysis of issues and report the outcome to business community and Management.

  • Develop / utilize core support tools and processes to perform work while improving day-to-day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business.

  • Coordinate and work with the global production support team.

  • Personal accountability for all areas directly or indirectly supporting.  Should have willingness to drive people on all sides of an issue to a common understanding and then drive them toward resolution.

  • Clearly communicate ideas in technical or business terms with senior business leadership, leadership outside the LOB (internal or external), their peers across IT, as well as their team.

  • Assess situations, prioritize requirements, and then go out to any IT team, including both development and infrastructure, and get support as needed. 

  • Has a strong sense of self and purpose.   Understands tasks and role, and does not need daily reassurances, yet maintains an open dialogue with all of the stakeholders.

  • 10+  years of professional experience in the field of information and technology.
  • Experience in developing and designing data warehouse applications using Big Data such as Hadoop, Cassandra, Greenplum and ETL tools.
  • Experience with Unix Linux platforms and scripting in SQL.
  • Experience in working in Cloud is a plus.
  • Knowledge of open source tools and utilities a plus.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring others.
  • Ability to multi-task /change focus quickly.
  • Ability to communicate and deliver effectively with Stakeholders.
