JPMC’s Internal Audit Department, which is comprised of over 1,000 auditors globally, reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and is further accountable to the Chairman and CEO, senior management, and the regulators. Audit is an independent risk assessment function established within the organization to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management’s system of internal control. 

  

The Capital Management Audit team provides audit coverage over Capital Management activities including Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) submissions, Capital Policy, Basel frameworks (e.g. Equity, Retail, Wholesale, Counterparty), and related reporting.

 

The individual will be involved in assessing the control environment supporting the firm's capital policy, monitoring and reporting along with the annual submission of the firm’s Capital Plan in accordance with relevant regulatory guidance including SR 15-18: Federal Reserve Supervisory Assessment of Capital Planning and Positions for LISCC Firms and Large and Complex Firms. 

 

This individual will be responsible for maintaining key stakeholder relationships with and providing control related advice to business stakeholders. The auditor will also be responsible for planning, execution and documentation of the results of their work for audits conducted, as well as coordinating coverage executed by regional and LoB audit teams. The candidate should possess strong project management, analytical and communication skills and have an ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute audits efficiently including planning, testing, control evaluation, report drafting and follow-up and verification of issue closure. Identify control issues relative to sound control frameworks and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with colleagues, clients and control community members to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls. This is conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and will require the presentation of root cause analysis to senior client management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement and partnership while adding value and driving change.
  • Perform monitoring of operational and financial related data to recognize patterns and trends with risk and control implications.
  • Partner with other groups within Audit (Corporate & Investment Bank, Consumer & Community Banking, Commercial Bank, Asset Management, Risk, Technology, etc.) to ensure the delivery of a seamless program of audit coverage across JPMorgan Chase.
  • Remain current with evolving regulatory and external events impacting the firm's Capital Management processes  including review of new guidance and rules as they are issued by regulators to assess impact.
  • Establish, promote and maintain a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline required. 
  • Minimum 5 years of audit or relevant business line/risk management experience.
  • Knowledge of Capital rules applicable to G-SIBs, including the relevant components of SR 15-18 Guidance and Basel Advanced Approaches.
  • Ability to lead audits, manage projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, issue/impact analysis and executive report preparation.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take risk.
  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner and with minimal supervision.
  • CFA, FRM, CPA or similar certification strongly preferred.
