Amgen is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our team and work from Amgen's beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA campus. To learn more:

The Associate Scientist will be a key member of a team responsible for characterizing Amgen's products and raw materials using state of the art analytic methods .

Day to Day Duties:

Executing analytical experiments to characterize a variety of sample types including drug substance, drug product, and raw materials

Guiding and mentoring junior team members

Responsibilities:

Characterizing a variety of sample types including drug substance, drug product, and raw materials using existing analytical methods

Designing and executing experiments to develop, qualify and optimize analytical methods

Authoring methods and reports

Participating in method transfer and validation

Providing concise and effective communication to team members, management, and stake-holders

Working independently and collaboratively.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 2 years of Scientific experience

Or

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Scientific experience

Desired Qualifications:

Technical experience and expertise: expertise and direct experience with analytical techniques and assay development. Knowledge and experience in chromatography and spectroscopy a plus; knowledge and experience in analyzing protein attributes a plus; knowledge and experience in analyzing excipients, reagents, particles, and raw materials a plus; knowledge in compendial methods a plus; knowledge in biotechnology a plus; graduate degree in Analytical chemistry or similar disciplines a plus.
