Department Description:  

Corporate Insurance Services (CIS) is part of the Chief Administrative Office and is responsible for negotiating, structuring and administering worldwide insurance programs for JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s (JPMC) businesses and operations.  This includes managing a captive insurance company, claims, loss control and contract reviews.


The International Corporate Insurance and Risk Associate will be responsible for supporting the International Insurance Risk Manager based in London who is responsible for securing and managing insurance programs which support business functions including Real Estate Asset Management across JPMC including the EMEA and ASIA PAC regions. Insurance programs include but are not limited to property, terrorism, casualty, marine, financial and professional product lines.

Primary responsibilities for the International Corporate Insurance and Risk Associate include administering insurance programs and performing a variety of duties related to assessing and mitigating risks including providing guidance to business units outside of the USA; in the EMEA and ASIA PAC region.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist with the renewal of corporate and LOB specific insurance programs including preparing various insurance renewal submissions, obtaining underwriting data throughout the organization, completing applications, attending meetings with insurance brokers and underwriters 
  • Negotiate policy coverage terms, scope of cover and pricing to address risk and exposures of the firm
  • Review insurance requirements proposed in various leases, client agreements and vendor contracts as well as assist internal sourcing team with insurance provisions and requirements related to RFPs, etc.
  • Work closely with various business units including Global Commodities and Asset Management EMEA/APAC and serve as a corporate insurance representative relative to LOB issues and questions
  • Review policies for accuracy and upload new policies to the firm’s RMIS database 
  • Provide consultation to the various lines of business based outside of the USA (EMEA/APAC) regarding coverage questions including appropriate amount and extent of insurance coverage required
  • Prepare pre and post renewal presentations and schedules of insurance for review by management.
  • Manage exposure reporting as required under various insurance programs
  • Support the claims management process for international claims and LOB, including the coordination of information between business unit and TPA
  • Support LOB efforts in managing loss control initiatives

  • Bachelors degree with a concentration in business, risk management or insurance
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an insurance risk management department, insurance brokerage firm or insurance company  
  • General knowledge and experience related to property, casualty, marine and/or management/professional liability insurance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to senior management of business  units
  • Ability to analyze loss information to proactively identify trends
  • Self-starter / highly organized / detail oriented / ability to multi-task
  • Ability to analyze financial information
  • Contract review experience and ability to offer thoughtful guidance to an internal stakeholder and to negotiate coverage with an external stakeholder
  • CPCU or ARM certifications a plus
  • General knowledge of international programs and local policies a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Risk Management Information System knowledge preferred
