Position Purpose

The Associate Director of Learning Innovation will provide project/program management for learning initiatives within DCAL's portfolio. The focus of this position is twofold: creating and implementing a framework for aligning new teaching and learning-related initiatives with DCAL's work and managing DCAL's portfolio of past and ongoing innovation initiatives.

Learning innovation enables faculty to develop new student - centered learning experiences to enhance learning and reach prospective, current, and life-long Dartmouth learners. Bringing together experiential and digital learning, the Associate Director serves as the central point of planning and coordination to incubate projects that advance the mission of the institution.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement a learning innovation framework for Dartmouth allowing the incorporation of new transformative initiatives into DCAL's work, aligning them to its mission, and measuring their success. Advocate for and generate resources to facilitate innovation. Formulate and lead institutional efforts in experimentation with and improvement of learning at Dartmouth. (25%)
  • In collaboration with DCAL and Learning Design and Technology staff, manage and participate in the continued development, maintenance, and evaluation of new and ongoing learning initiatives. (30%)
  • Cultivate campus partners to develop sustained resources to transition pilot projects originating within DCAL to ongoing operations in appropriate units of the College. (25%)
  • Contribute to DCAL's strategic planning and coordinate with other Directors to align activities within this plan. (10%)
  • Participate in building the College's leadership in learning innovation with peer institutions, through coordinating and hosting events at Dartmouth, professional presentations, and scholarship. (10%)
