Commercial Vision:
 
COPIKTRA™ (duvelisib), is an oral inhibitor of phosphoinositide 3–kinase (PI3K) and is the first to act as a dual inhibitor of PI3K-delta and PI3K-gamma.  COPIKTRA™ is approved for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) after at least two prior therapies and for follicular lymphoma after at least two prior systemic therapies.

Summary:
 
The Associate Director/Director, Commercial Insights reports to the Vice President, IT and Commercial Operations.  This position is responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of Commercial Insights across Verastem Oncology. As part of commercial insight development, this role will partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical and Sales to define KPI’s and operational report needs, select and integrate the right external and internal data sources to build a best-in-class platform that can quickly deliver both syndicated and ad-hoc analyses. 
 
The individual will be responsible for leveraging BI tools and analytics best practices to drive evidence based decision making, scenario modeling and performance reporting.
 
This leadership role will have broad exposure and make a strong impact across the Verastem Oncology Commercial Operations, IT, Compliance, Finance, Medical, Market Access, Field Leadership and other groups through exceptional customer service, consultative nature, stakeholder management and a strong orientation towards providing results.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Work closely with Field Sales and Marketing leadership in defining, developing and/or evaluating standard performance KPI’s.  This will include but is not limited to account plan effectiveness, resource utilization and program effectiveness.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of key data sources (e.g. claims, prescribers, line of therapy) used in the development of Commerical KPIs within a biotech or life sciences company.
  • Develop and manage field force alignments and facilitate sales target development discussions.  Work with Commercial IT team to operationalize agreed upon structures with the commercial data and reporting platforms.
  • Partner closely with the Commercial IT team to enhance and support all insight value delivered through the existing Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW), Data Aggregation, CRM and BI foundational platforms.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving the CDW platform. Through a consultative approach and active listening, identify new market intelligence needs and leverage the Verastem Oncology BI tools to deliver valuable and actionable insights.  This may include digital marketing, development or other key departments.
  • Conduct or coordinate Insights training as needed for field users and leadership and provide trouble-shooting support.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of innovative UI/UX thinking and usability experience when building BI dashboards to assist in increasing user adoption.
  • Advise Verastem Oncology on new or improved BI tools and industry best practice reporting ideas  and ensure proper data and reporting requirements are considered during and KPI decision making.
  • Oversee master data management processes including data stewardship of Verastem Oncology’s Customer master. Oversee Data Management Vendors along with our data aggregation vendor including patient hub, specialty pharmacies, specialty distributors,  and other third-party data providers.
  • Create, manage and oversee the development and implementation of Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work for data or reporting providers as needed.
  • Liaise with Field team & IT on the development of automated and manual dashboards and reports based on stakeholder input and best practices.
  • Contribute towards developing innovative data quality/data management/verification processes as needed.  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 to 7 years experience in life science data analysis, data aggregation, data sources and biotech/pharma commercial processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, Veeva and other BI platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience working with Commercial and/or Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Aggregators, Patient Hub Data, and Master Data Management systems.
  • Experience with SQL and/or querying large datasets.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Industry knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of life sciences data sources (Symphony, IQVIA) including source non-retail, claims, line of therapy and others.
  • Experience working with CRM data systems like Salesforce, Veeva, etc.
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable building relationships within the sales and commercial teams.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills.
  • Exhibits consultative approach to problem solving and actively seeks out key stakeholder input.
