Responsible for creating and maintaining commercial field sales and market access training capabilities and the resources necessary for employee development during initial on-boarding and on a continuing basis. Leads and develops Commercial Effectiveness and Training Managers.

  • Collaborates with Corporate Training & Development to support commercial field market access leadership development
  • Leads field based trainer program

Leading Business - Field Based Training

  • Develops and maintains training curriculum and on-boarding processes to meet the current and evolving needs of the commercial field market access teams (Market Development Manager, Patient Access Manager and Long-Term Care NAM)
  • Leads and/or oversees the training and pull through for market access commercial field teams in all settings including meetings, conference calls, classroom, etc.
  • Manages the approval of training materials and resources through ACADIAs MMLR (Marketing, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory) process including regularly attending MMLR meetings
  • Works with market access leadership to proactively identify and address training gaps
  • Identifies opportunities to elevate the learning experience (virtual and live) and to improve training collateral, workshops, etc.
  • Partners with leadership and People & Performance (HR) to ensure accountability to the comprehension standard
  • Helps coach and develop market access field teams (during trainings, field rides, as needed to support market access leadership, etc.)
  • Works with corporate compliance and/or our compliance agency partner to ensure commercial field market access employees are trained and up-to-date on policies and procedures that affect their respective functional areas

Leading Business - Commercial Field Market Access Leadership Support

  • Partners with commercial field market access leadership and home office business partners to establish meeting agendas, create relevant content and ensure effective pull through
  • Works cross-functionally to identify ongoing training priorities and develops necessary content to meet those needs

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required. Advanced business or life sciences degree is preferred. At least five years combined experience of sales training and first-line pharmaceutical/biotech sales leadership, including two years corporate based sales training responsibilities.

  • Corporate L & D and product launch experience preferred
  • Experience managing vendors and negotiating contracts
  • Long-Term Care and Account Management experience is highly desired
  • Instructional Design experience a plus

Scope:

Manages segment to achieve goals in accordance with established policies, meet schedules and resolve problems; may provide direction to and review of, managers, supervisors, or employees. Works on abstract problems that may cross functional areas. Interacts with management on matters concerning functional area. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional area and may impact overall company operations.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 40% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.
