The Associate of Human Resources Service team will report to the Human Resources Operations Manager with a dotted line to the site Talent Acquisition Sr Manager and will work out at Amgen's Puerto Rico site, Amgen Manufacturing Limited.

Located in Juncos, Puerto Rico, AML is Amgen's largest multi-product manufacturing site and most of the combination products comprising Amgen's portfolio move through this 1.7 million square foot biotechnology facility.

About the role:

In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to learn about the many aspects of human resources administration while delivering customer service support to staff members and managers as a member of our service delivery local team. Additionally, the incumbent will work with highly confidential information of all staff levels within the organization.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Managing HR Connect Puerto Rico Service Center calls and email inquiries, operationally supports HR strategies related to SR and OE
  • Manage low-medium complexity SR Issues and delivers effective HR service which is customer-focused and business- related
  • Talent Acquisition backup for activities related to pre-employment process, offer processing, new hire and onboarding process among others

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Answers telephony inquiries from a dedicated phone line, as ell as email inquiries, and triage/escalate issues according to defined processes and procedures; inquires include providing navigational support / answers relating to Amgen's HR system (Workday) while utilizing a knowledgebase program for guidance, an incident management tool to manage inquiries and transactions, and providing excellent customer service as measured by Service Level Agreements and call center metrics
  • Advises management and staff on HR policy and program matters. Refers more complicated matters.
  • Performs transactional work in Workday as well as manages and maintains the content in teams' knowledge base program and suggest improvement for ongoing development
  • Contributes to improving relationships and service levels with staff and Center of Excellence partners by pro-active communications as well as timely and effective responses
  • Generates standard reports and perform audits on transactional work and other processes
  • Contributes to knowledge sharing within the team. Provide feedback on process and technology improvements
  • Supports and backs up other team members in their daily activities while fostering and sustaining a positive work environment that fosters team performance through own work and behavior
  • Manage other assigned activities


You will Need:

Bachelor's degree

Or

Associate Degree with 4 years' prior customer / service delivery experience

Beyond that, you will also need:
  • Be Fluent in English and Spanish with ability to communicate effectively, both in English and Spanish, verbally and in written word
  • 2+ years' experience in Human Resources, Customer Service or Payroll
  • Effective analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and the ability to learn additional programs as needed
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Strong team player who can collaborate with colleagues on complex tasks
  • Experience supporting a large, complex, global organization / customer base - preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
