Role Summary

Act as an inside sales point of contact for sales accounts. Provide support and assistance to Account Managers and Sales Manager as well as to the overall sales business strategy.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities                                                                           

  • Act as an inside sales point of contact for all accounts with a focus on tour operator, travel agency and consolidator accounts
  • Responsible for account administrative duties, e.g. contract administration
  • Process waivers & favors for agency and corporate accounts or trade partners
  • Prepare and evaluate statistics (revenue, share, waivers, industry information)
  • Liaise with internal departments (refunds, ADM, accounting, customer relations, reservations, RM, pricing, sales planning) about all trade customer issues as their first point of contact
  • Source new business in corporate and leisure area
  • Create presentations and product overviews
  • Analysis of AA and competitive products and services in the local market
  • Trade and corporate communication (product and policy updates)
  • Joint sales calls with account managers where appropriate
  • Counseling of account managers on all operational and tactical account queries
  • Attend sales promotions and other events outside office hours as required
  • Assist with translations and reviews of translations from English to German and vice versa
  • Provide input in reference to customer relation queries
  • Working of phone, mail & fax as well as generic sales e-mail address
  • Liaise with Marketing on DE/AT campaigns
  • Prepare Sales Events


Person Specification


  • Strong MS office and other PC skills
  • Excellent spoken and written communication in German and English
  • Good organizational and administrative ability
  • Thorough understanding of AA's sales systems and policies
  • Fully conversant with SABRE
  • Ability to prioritize, managing time effectively
  • Demonstrate ability to react in a stressful environment and to handle critical situations
  • Team player
  • Deliver high level of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Being positive and enthusiastic about given and new tasks
  • Showing pro-activeness and initiative
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrates flexibility
