The US Wealth Management (USWM), including Chase Wealth Management (CWM) & Intelligent Digital Solutions (IDS) Control team’s mission is to enable the proactive identification and timely remediation of risk by providing a framework, infrastructure and support system holistically encompassing the breadth and depth of risk across Asset & Wealth Management. We are responsible for the overall risk and control framework that incudes governance, regulatory response, risk mitigation, risk transformation and control monitoring. Our Business Control Managers have deep subject matter expertise, are embedded with the broader Business teams and work hub and spoke with the Business and other pillars of our risk and control team to help carry out the consistency of the framework while driving the continued evolution of a more advanced risk and control approach. We also partner with Operations, Technology and Business leadership to take the best of what we do, within and across LOBs, and drive deliberate cross-pollination, lessons learned, and drive control initiatives all to help drive risk reduction. We serve the broader organization in a collaborative fashion, with a mindset to “serve and protect” and ensure a “design for control” oriented approach in all that we do.

Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.

Control Management focuses on four areas: 
1) Control design and expertise
2) Risks and controls identification/assessment
3) Control breaks and resolution
4) Control governance & reporting

The CWM Control Manager (CM) will support the implementation and maintenance of Corporate Operational Risk Environment framework for CWM distribution channel. This Control Manager role will collaborate with the USWM & IDS business units to implement and maintain controls necessary to mitigate operational risks, which includes using a risk based approach to assess the control environment, partnering with the business to design effective controls and reviewing routine controls testing and will function as part of a team to provide oversight to ensure compliance with policies and standards. This individual will be responsible for working across diverse and cross-functional organizations to develop plans, identify solutions, and drive continuous improvement through participation and/or ownership of key control initiatives, self-assessments and root cause analysis along with ongoing process review and control testing. 

Role Responsibilities:
•Manage control-related activities, including risk and control assessments when appropriate, risk event data occurrences, and new business initiatives and provide control related due diligence to business units to foster a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
•Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and Control programs including: control committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design and effectiveness evaluation/testing
•Help establish control governance and reporting to identify meaningful metrics to inform on health of operational risk and control environment; escalate control breaks based on key reporting indicators; and manage control committees and forums.
•Understand and drive control design that support unique regulatory environment for the broker –dealer subject to oversight by the bank and Retail Non-Deposit Investment Product handbook

•Provide ongoing feedback and training to develop employees on risk concepts and the application to risk and control evaluation

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
•10+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
•Experience leading broad cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and deliver best practices
•Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement
