Wealth Management (WM) is comprised of the Private Bank and J.P. Morgan Securities businesses which provide integrated wealth management services for ultra high net worth and high net worth families and individuals worldwide. WM oversees over $1.4 trillion of client assets across various products such as Investments, Trust / Estates and Banking generating approximately $7 billion in revenue annually.


Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.


Control Management focuses on four areas: 

1) Control design and expertise

2) Risks and controls identification/assessment

3) Control breaks and resolution

4) Control governance & reporting

Management Information (MI) Governance is a function within WM Control Management that focuses on management information (MI) used by governance committees. The primary objective is to design a best-in-class management information framework that provides effective reporting governance to ensure that all MI used in governance meetings is sourced appropriately. This role will work closely with partners in the business, technology, operations, and finance.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Assessing current state of MI in governance committee reporting; identify gaps and inconsistencies; influence committees to rationalize information and enhance reporting to improve decision making
  • Create governance structure and standards to be utilized across governance committees; ensure reporting is sourced appropriately and consistently
  • Partner with Chief Data Office to design reporting framework; develop business requirements; test reporting environment and build out reporting capabilities
  • Develop MI reporting close process; create control environment that includes validation and sign-off
  • Create operating model to that defines operating procedures, roles and responsibilities, and is sustainable in an environment that anticipates reporting changes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of financial service experience with strong knowledge/experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred;   Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts
  • or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Problem solving / Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations
  • Reporting / Analytics (e.g., collect aggregate controls reporting information for governance committees, generate reporting, metrics, KRI/KPI, scorecards in support of CM evaluation of operational risk and controls, support input and reporting of LOB-wide issues and action plans)
