Reports to: Engineering Manager

Position Summary

  • Be an ISEC "Innovator" by constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and create new processes, ideas or products; innovation is the ability to recognize and stimulate unusual ideas with high potential impact
  • Use AutoCAD to generate shop drawings for Production casework and specialty items
  • Understand standard construction methods and coordinate product functionality with project managers to complement desired architectural design
  • Troubleshoot potential constructability and usability problems while developing possible solutions
  • Use software to export products from drawings and process reports to determine material needs
  • Manually take-off materials for other items such as countertops, specialty items, etc.
  • Use Microsoft Access (Database) to manage and document projects
  • Consider appliance/equipment sizes and clearances as well as ADA clearance requirements
  • Review supporting documents to ensure project success
  • Provide pre-production instruction in the form of Details to instruct the production of submittal
  • Create the approach of the all awarded ISEC projects and present in strategy meetings
  • Communicate with ISEC engineering and third-party engineering firms in the form of a Strategy meeting and Kick off meeting.
  • Uses 2D and 3D drawings to communicate project details to clearly communicate entitlement, decrease engineering labor, improve fabrication, decrease field labor, assembly time and field complications.
  • Drives process improvements, best practices and new technology.
  • Interface with multiple departments within ISEC

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of cabinet trade experience in a commercial, architectural millwork environment
  • Production floor ("shop") experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of drafting and layout of cabinet projects and millwork as well as integration with other products such as ornamental metal, stainless steel, wood, glass, stone and solid surfaces (i.e., Corian)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of workflow from fabrication to installation
  • Familiarity with Lean Construction principles
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microvellum is required, Revit/BIM experience is highly desired
  • The ability to quickly learn specific software such as MS Access, OST and PDF software required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to read and understand contract documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration, and fabrication
  • Understands the concept of financial analysis skills for managing budget of Engineering Services
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and grow; maintain/advance expertise, including industry trends, strategies, and products
  • Consultative approach, technical writing, project deliverable and strong communication skills that demonstrate experience delivering complex solutions and services
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills that demonstrate experience resolving difficult issues and dilemmas
  • Ability to manage project timelines and outcomes for projects with considerable implementation risk; ability to prioritize activities against business and project (scope vs. schedule vs. resource) constraints
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player; must be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor and drive/manage change with peers and across functional teams
  • High level of Emotional Intelligence (EI) with a servant leadership attitude; adaptable to others ideas and approaches to work that demonstrates interest in the best possible solution for ISEC vs. personal agenda
