Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Application Support is dedicated to ensuring that the suite of global applications and infrastructure are available in order to provide the highest quality experience for our customers and employees who service them. In this role you will provide frontline support for production incidents and changes for critical JPMC applications, ensuring the overall stability of the environment. You will identify chronic issues, productivity efficiencies & improvements and then partner with SRE and Application Development Teams to implement permanent resolution. Provide production incident and change support and take ownership in managing and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure minimum disruption to internal and external clients.  Perform timely escalation of critical production incidents and proactively identify patterns of recurring incidents to improve service stability.


This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of application development
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
  • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Application Support is dedicated to ensuring that the suite of global applications and infrastructure are available in order to provide the highest quality experience for our customers and employees who service them. In this role you will provide frontline support for production incidents and changes for critical JPMC applications, ensuring the overall stability of the environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Experience with Splunk, Wily, Dynatrace, Geneos or other enterprise scale monitoring tools 
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Control M and/or Autosys
  • Very good working knowledge with SQL, Unix/Linux and/or Windows Server, Databases and Cloud Technologies
  • Experience in production support with incident and change management processes and tools
