Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school.
  • Certification an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), with prescriptive privileges in the State of New Jersey
  • Certification within Area of Specialty and granted privileges from ARMC medical staff.
  • NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C registry unencumbered.
  • BLSHCP required.
  • ACLS, IABP pump training preferred but will train within 6 months from date of hire or transfer and then certification will be required.
  • Minimum 2-4 years clinical experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Structural Heart/Valve Coordinator/Advanced Practice Nurse in the Cardiovascular Service Line is responsible for coordination and oversight of the Structural Heart Program, Valve Clinic, and TAVR Program. The position collaborates with appropriate members of the healthcare team (physicians, nursing staff, case managers, department managers, physician office staff and referring facility staff) to determine the appropriate cardiovascular disease treatment options related to cardiovascular disorders treatment and disease. The Coordinator/Advanced Practice Nurse directs daily operations for patients with cardiovascular disease while in the hospital and the Valve Clinic and respective structural heart physicians. The Coordinator is responsible for all coordination of services with the structural heart patients, community lectures and outreach and physician follow-up. The role ensures tight hand-offs from hospital to valve clinic to physician office as applicable.

This position utilizes appropriate clinical competency to determine cardiovascular disease program follow-up and continuity of care in collaboration with the health care team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school or as grandfathered by NJ Law required.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey and certified by the State Board of Nursing. Certification within area of specialty required and granted privileges from Atlantic CityMedicalCenter medical staff. NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered.

BLSHCP required. ACLS, IABP pump training preferred but will train within 6 months from date of hire or transfer and then certification will be required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2-4 years clinical experience. Cardiology, Surgery, Cardiac Cath, Critical Care or Emergency Room experience preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous waste, and potential for injury.

This position requires a moderate amount of standing and walking and the ability to lift light to moderate weight, up to approximately 20 pounds occasionally.
