About The Job

This job is a member of the Joint Business Finance Team within the Alliances and Partnerships Division. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and ongoing negotiation and structuring of the Pacific Joint Business and the Qantas American Joint Business.


Specifically, you’ll do the following

  • Estimates transfer payments and related payments between the Joint Business partners
  • Supports the development of new Joint Business partners and negotiating new concepts or unresolved matters into the Revenue or Alliance Share Agreement
  • Presents and explains transfer payment estimates and complex related revenue share concepts to senior management
  • Executes and maintains the settlement model in conjunction with our Joint Businesses
  • Identifies and explains transfer payment trends on Joint Business routes
  • Performs ongoing maintenance of other financial aspects of the Joint Business Agreement including issues such as joint investment, fuel surcharge remittance, capacity governance, etc.
  • Provides other finance functions as necessary to support Alliances & Partnerships
  • Estimates the impact of network and other commercial changes on the transfer payment
  • Interfaces with other groups such as Network Planning, AAdvantage, RM, Accounting, IT, and Controllers
  • Ability to travel Internationally


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years related experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in RM, Sales Planning, FP&A, Capacity Planning or similar
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required with an emphasis on financial modeling
  • Ability to document processes
  • Ability to lead and influence cross functional groups with maturity and confidence
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Knowledge of corporate database and systems (e.g., MIRS, APAS,DIIO, MIDT, SAP) desirable
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong presentation skills
