About The Job

This job is a member of the Joint Business Finance Team within the Alliances & Partnerships Division. Responsible for financial oversight, ongoing negotiation and structuring of one of AA’s Joint Businesses. 


Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Maintain a working relationship with AA’s Joint Business Partners: British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Finnair; or Japan Airlines and Qantas Airways
  • Calculate transfer payments and related settlements between the Joint Business partners
  • Support the development of new Joint Business partners
  • Negotiate new concepts, initiatives or unresolved matters
  • Present and explain transfer payment estimates and complex Revenue Share Agreement concepts to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis of other aspects of the Joint Business Agreement including capacity governance, frequent flyer program activity, etc.
  • Draft contracts with internal and external counsel Interacts with many other AA departments, including: Network Planning, AAdvantage, RM, Accounting, Legal, Sales and Finance
  • Must be willing to travel internationally for business when needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years related experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required with an emphasis on financial modeling
  • Structurally minded with ability to document processes
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional groups with maturity and confidence
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Knowledge of corporate database and systems (e.g., MIRS, APAS, DIIO, MIDT, SAP)
  • Ability to work in a team environment Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Excellent presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA Prior experience in RM, Sales Planning, FP&A, Capacity Planning or similar
  • Prior experience in RM, Sales Planning, FP&A, Capacity Planning or similar
