About The Job

This role is a member of the AAdvantage Promotions Strategy team within the Customer Insights & Loyalty department.  The Analyst/Senior Analyst, AAdvantage Promotions Strategy will be responsible for identifying and designing data and advanced analytics driven marketing strategies to drive customer engagement and revenue with American and the AAdvantage program.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Promote personalized engagement and targeting efforts for AAdvantage member campaigns by utilizing all aspects of customer data, including customer segmentation, demographic and transactional data, and customer’s historic engagement and operational experience profile.
  • Responsible for designing campaigns to increase ROI, which includes:
    • Incorporating customer insights from a variety of sources (e.g. transactional data, surveys, inbound calls, campaign responses, service issues, etc.) into a more comprehensive and consistent view of the customer
    • Collaborating with Customer Insights and Loyalty and Operations Research to apply advanced analytics techniques like RFM modeling, regression and classification modeling, response modeling, etc.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, including Loyalty, Marketing, Revenue Management, IT, Operations Research and other customer-facing workgroups to identify customer engagement and revenue opportunities
  • Analyze and report on campaign results and explore opportunities for improved targeting efforts
  • Present findings of research and analysis to all key stakeholders
Qualifications
  • BA/BS required, plus 2 years of experience in strategy and analysis
  • And demonstrated experience in:
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
    • Knowledge and experience with data mining and analytics tools including SQL
    • Problem solving and analytical skills
    • Data analysis using complex data sets
    • Ability to move projects forward without deadlines as well as effectively work under tight time constraints as needed
    • Experience balancing multiple projects concurrently
    • Marketing background, particularly customer experience and communications, with an interest and curiosity about the latest marketing trends
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively communicate and work with diverse business groups
    • Understand customer data and customer interactions specific to the airline as well as customer experience management best practices across industries
    • Excellent leadership, communication, creative thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Able to develop creative solutions and innovative strategies to drive real business results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, business analytics, operations management, data science, or related field
  • Experience in airline data and systems
  • Airline industry economic and market analysis including customer segmentation and revenue management
  • Market basket analysis, A/B testing, and consumer choice analysis
  • Predictive modeling including regression, clustering, and classification techniques; data exploration, and optimization
  • Business Intelligence tools and dashboard and report development using Tableau, Excel, VBA, Power Pivot, and IBM Cognos
