About The Job

This job is a member of the Sales Team within the Sales Division. This position will be responsible for developing strategies, maintaining relationships, and negotiating contracts with online travel agencies (OTAs), like Priceline and Expedia, as well as meta-search engine sites (MSEs) such as Kayak. In addition, the analyst will be the primary point of contact for a set of accounts and will be responsible for ensuring all day to day activities are appropriately addressed.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Accounts management (developing strategies, maintaining relationships and negotiating amendments/contracts) of one or more of American’s relationships with major OTA and MSE partners
  • Supports analysis of various distribution initiatives, including cost savings, revenue drivers, and ancillary upsell performance
  • Assists with economic modeling of strategies and contracts to support decision making during upcoming negotiations
  • Independently manages and provides in depth ad hoc analysis, including identifies and applies trends and root cause analysis
  • Develops presentations that concisely summarize and communicate results from analysis
  • Works on various cross-departmental projects and efforts with RM, Sales, IT, and many other departments
  • Assists with the budgeting and forecasting of OTA expenses
  • Maintains knowledge of multiple Sales data systems, including Mosaic, Cognos, Sales Hub, and works independently to provide data for requests and analysis
  • Provides various analytical support for the Distribution and Data Commercialization teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent experience/training

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data systems including MOSAIC/SQL is a plus
  • Background/experience in RM/Sales/Finance
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects and manage priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage projects
  • Aptitude for detailed logical analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to effectively interpret large amounts of data and provide direction to user groups
  • Decisiveness and initiative to take projects to the next level
  • Time management and strong ability to multi-task
  • Critical thinking and the ability to see business implications of strategic initiatives
  • Analytical skills with an understanding of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Ability to operate within a team environment, interact effectively across departments and with all levels of management
  • Motivates others and manages stress and conflict
  • Passionate about delivering results
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint) and strong experience with Excel required
