Role Summary

Provide support and assistance on a full range of maintenance work carried out on all American Airlines leased facilities at London Heathrow, including head office.  Layout, plan and execution of complex maintenance assignments requiring the skills of one or more of the maintenance trades such as carpenter, electrician, HVAC, millwright or plumber.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To be responsible for the safety of yourself and others by complying with HSE directives and following safe systems of work
  • Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, check, repairs, reworks, replace, fabricate, assemble, install and adjust building component or equipment.
  • Assist with the completion of special projects including support of work carried out at third party facilities in London and other venues across the UK.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, professionally and appropriately at all times.
  • To be responsible for completing forms connected with the work assignment according to established procedures.
  • Undertake mandatory checks of equipment to ensure company is compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Must be willing to work extra hours when there are operational needs
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off.
  • To develop a good working relationships with colleagues.
  • To maintain the highest level of personal appearance and professional conduct as an representative of American Airlines.


  • To take reasonable care of the health and safety of self, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions. To co-operate with AA as far as is necessary to enable AA to comply with all relevant statutory provisions. To immediately report serious risks or concerns over safety issues
  • To comply with the AA Rules of Conduct Europe & Pacific and work within the context of all company’s policies & procedures
  • To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role and in accordance with the company’s uniform/dress policy

Person Specification


  • Proven experience of working in a Facilities Maintenance environment.
  • Basic maintenance skills such as painting, using drills and other electrical tools.
  • A full UK/EU clean driving license.
  • Physically fit with good color vision.
  • A friendly, proactive and cooperative approach to customer service.
  • Ability to work remotely and often without direct supervision.
  • Must remain flexible and adaptable in the face of a dynamic, fast paced and changing business.
  • Must demonstrate the highest level of attendance and timekeeping
  • Must be open and honest in all their dealings across the organization
  • Computer skills – Excel, Word, and company email
