  • ​This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union.
  • ​Responsible for preparation, analysis and auditing of financial records for American Airlines Credit Union.
What you'll do


  •  Processes purchase requisitions, obtains quotes from vendors and prepares and sends purchase orders and reviews corresponding invoices for accuracy
  • Obtains competitive bids on purchases to ensure the Credit Union gets the highest quality at the lowest cost
  • Orders and restocks supplies and business cards
  • Reviews supply warehouse vendor invoice for accuracy
  • Completes general ledger account reconciliations for accounts with daily transactions and/or complex, material transactions
  • Prepares budget to actual variances for various income/expense categories and explains causes for the variances and spots trends as appropriate
  • Completes annual insurance policy renewal for the Credit Union and other insurance related tasks
  • Prepares documents and files requested by internal/external auditors and NCUA examiners
  • Creates and maintains policies and procedures for the processes/functions
  • Performs other duties and ad-hoc assignments as needed
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in accounting concepts and standards
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related financial field
  • Post-graduate degree and/or professional certification
  • Three or more years of directly relevant accounting work experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (eg. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Skilled in strong analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze and report data with little guidance
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills & exercise effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data and present the analysis logically to senior management
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment under tight deadlines and high-volume pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
