Overview

 

Role Summary

The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of channel accounts in Germany.

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities     

  • To be responsible for negotiating sales and marketing agreements (SMAs) to maximize ROI for the JB and for American Airlines in the rest of the world.
  • To leverage relationships to drive incremental SME revenue through the TMC channels and premium business through the leisure and specialist channels.
  • To develop strong working relationships with JB counterparts and revenue management teams.
  • To conduct quarterly reviews to ensure targets are met and implement strategies to correct performance shortfalls.
  • To deliver high impact presentations to all levels, including senior management, within the agency.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the post. 

 

General

  • To take reasonable care of the health and safety of self, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions.  To co-operate with AA as far as is necessary to enable AA to comply with all relevant statutory provisions. To immediately report serious risks or concerns over safety issues
  • To comply with the AA Rules of Conduct Europe & Pacific and work within the context of all Company’s policies & procedures
  • To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role and in accordance with the Company’s uniform/dress policy

  • To actively participate in regular coaching & counselling meetings, performance reviews and development meetings

Qualifications

Person Specification

 

Essential

  • Be goal oriented – focused on achieving revenue and share targets.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to implement value-based selling.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to develop account strategy.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement the AA-JB process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills (English and German).
  • Ability to influence and persuade account performance in a professional manner.
  • A strategic thinker – able to successfully envisage, embrace and implement changes within the industry, account, JB and American Airlines.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure

 

Desirable

  • Excellent knowledge/understanding of travel trade market place
  • Possess in depth knowledge of the JB product, service and brand
  • A degree in business or economics or relevant proven experience
  • Be in possession of own transport and must be willing to participate in extensive out of hour’s activity and frequent overseas travel.
