CCB Card Services Rewards and Benefits product team is seeking an Executive Director with a strong software engineering background to lead several of our product delivery teams. These teams work closely with our business partners/Area product owners to build strategic solutions that create memorable moments for our customers.

 

 

 

As an experienced Software Engineer, your mission is to help lead our teams of innovators and technologists toward creating modern solutions that improve the way our businesses run. Expert knowledge of design, development, problem solving, testing and integrating products is critical to the success of this function and the person in this role. Expertise in various technology delivery concepts including Domain Driven Design, API oriented development, microservice and event based architectures and automation are key. You will lead teams in building cloud based solutions leveraging modern patterns with implementations in both our private and public cloud platforms.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading software development or product engineering teams in delivering enterprise grade solutions. They will have experience in delivering outcomes through agile software delivery and DevOps principles. Having vision and ability to document and communicate that vision thru funding, staffing, and success measures is required. The ideal candidate will be adept at setting strategic direction with partners and have experience solving complex, mission critical problems, internally and externally. The candidate should have excellent communications skills, a global mindset and be able to build strong relationships with senior leaders in and outside our organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the overall strategic organizational management for IT teams; most experienced members who spend over 50% of their time on organizational management and skill sets are fungible across all job families.

  • Responsible for all aspects of technology delivery

  • Provide analysis and estimation of future work impacting our teams

  • Provide technical oversight to scrum masters/project managers during implementation and enhancement sprint cycles

  • Work closely with the risk control teams, delivery leads and vendors during the risk assessment activities for the all third party and internally developed solutions

  • Strong risk management mindset relative to managing risk and delivering technical tasks related to the solution e.g. breaks, defects, patches & upgrades

  • Strong talent assessment and talent management background

  • Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal (business and technology team members) and third party partners

  • Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems

  • Plan team capacity to accommodate demands


  • Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 10+ years’ experience in developing Enterprise solutions and integrating 3rd party products.

  • 7+ years of managing technical Delivery teams and enterprise products.

  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React and Amber.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with server side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in one in large scale software development with experience using modern technology (e.g. Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g. microservices, APIs)

  • Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle or Amazon RDS.

  • Experience in cloud technologies and patterns (AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Experience with automation techniques including CI/CD (Jenkins).

  • Experience with automated testing tools and capabilities (Cucumber, Selenium, ATDD, TDD).

  • Experience with pattern languages (Gof4, Enterprise patterns, Strangler).

  • Experience with large legacy platform decomposition a plus.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Good problem solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and management skills.

  • Attention to detail.
