Consumer & Community Bank Finance -Chief Financial Officer - Managing Director

Job Description

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer responsible for the financial management of Chase Branded Cards (CBC) and Ultimate Rewards and Loyalty Solutions (UR). This individual will partner closely with the leadership teams of these business units to help to formulate and drive viable business growth strategies. The emphasis will be on strong partnership, superior thought leadership, and will require exceptional ability to influence, challenge, and ultimately drive structured recommendations for senior leadership.


The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced “multiple balls in the air” operating environment and is a results driven problem solver with strong optimism. He or she should possess exceptional communication skills, combined with broad strategic acumen and commercial savvy. A honed set of prior experiences across either CFO/business management, financial analysis, consulting, or investment banking will be key for the candidate to succeed in helping to conceptualize financial P&L detail into tangible operating strategy.


The CFO will manage a multi-billion dollar business unit and customer experience platform will have direct interaction with the President, General Managers, as well as multiple Centers of Excellence across the business/finance organizations including Acquisitions, Marketing, Financial Planning & Analysis, Pricing, Risk, Investment Analytics, et al.

The role will serve on the CBC Leadership, UR Leadership and Card Finance Leadership teams, and will report directly to the CFO of Chase Card.

Responsibilities
  • Attract, retain and develop a team of world class finance professionals.
  • Set and execute business strategy and development, accountable for profit and loss.
  • Provide valuable consulting to Business Unit Presidents and leadership teams to drive/identify growth opportunities and continually reengineer the business for optimal efficiency/growth
  • Provide insightful business financial information and coordinate financial planning and budget/forecast management functions
  • Ensure accurate, secure and timely recording and reporting of business activities, including monthly, quarterly, budgets, forecasts, and other ad-hoc analysis
  • Partner across the Business/Finance operating model in driving decision-making and creating appropriate Budgets that are aggressive, achievable, and tied to long-term shareholder growth
  • Develop and foster working relationships with other businesses and functional groups to support business growth while balancing the appropriate controls

Qualifications
  • Results oriented CFO background with ability to identify opportunities to grow business
  • Creative thought leader, exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to provide structured conclusions to all levels of management
  • Ability to create a clear, simple and compelling vision, develop strategy and communicates in a way that gains engagement at all levels
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills and ability to collaborate across a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to set and manage accountabilities and expectations at all levels - team members, peers, business partners and senior and executive management
  • Excellent relationship skills, highly collaborative – can build rapport and credibility quickly with all levels of the organization
  • Executive presence, comfortable interacting with, presenting to and influencing senior leaders
  • Track record of building great teams and attracting top talent
  • 10+ years of broad business management including prior experiences in consulting, investment banking, or operational roles in a Fortune 500 company (payments/credit card preferred)
