VP, Credit Portfolio Officer

The Commercial Banks Global Oversight Risk Team, located in NY with responsibilities over CCBs entire global network, is looking for a Credit Portfolio Officer who will provide analytical oversight and support in critical projects that impact all countries of the Commercial Bank presence.
We are looking for candidates with credit background over classifiably managed exposures and working familiarity with risk ratings, who have some portfolio analysis abilities especially in how to report concentration risk from a portfolio and individual customer and are interested in growing their experience in credit risk by supporting a global multicultural business.
This role requires significant interaction with a wide range of seniors in the Commercial Bank and in the Bank including the Commercial leadership and the Concentration Risk Management group (CRM). The CRM is a newly established group within the Risk Management function.
The CRM Establishing and overseeing the overarching enterprise-wide CRM governance framework, which will involve incorporating a new enterprise-wide CRM policy with supplementary standards and procedures. This role will be supporting Commercial on this new framework.
The position does not represent a typical credit underwriting/approval function, however relative background is important to be able to effectively monitor portfolios credit trends and comprehend credit performance measures. It is often needed to process datasets, synthesizing and evaluating the related information to draw qualitative conclusions.
The officer will handle a mix of periodic tasks and ad hoc projects. The position offers broad on the job learning experience and further development opportunities within Citis Risk organization.

The Credit Portfolio Officer is a senior-level position responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to client and counterparties globally.

Job Description


  • Support to refine the Concentration Risk Framework for Commercial Bank in which we can monitor: Industry, Geography, Product, collateral and other concentration pools.
  • The function includes oversight of the key controls such as Credit Officer Scorecard and Post Loan Approval results, self-conducting an in-depth analysis of the portfolio trends and escalating issues related tocredit lending process.
  • Review impacts on the Commercial Banks portfolio resulting from annual updates of the Concentration Risk
  • Support the teams existing process and new initiatives for Credit Risk in classifiably managed portfolio, which include ensuring accuracy and completeness of this portfolio, escalating and resolving possible issues and propose, when necessary, process improvements, simplification and global standardization.
  • Point of contact in providing guidance on the proper application of Concentration Risk in Commercial;
  • Design ad hoc credit portfolio analysis and presentations formulated to assist in Global CCB Risk Oversights portfolio management responsibilities and for regulatory purposes.
  • Engage in projects driven by Policy changes and/or Re-engineering initiatives primarily related to Concentration Risk, Risk Framework and the Global Commercial Credit Program
  • The position will directly report to C-15/Director Credit Portfolio Group Manager


  • Min. 6 years of experience in the financial sector with at least 2 years in a current role
  • Working experience in the financial Industry, preferably a global bank, in roles associated with credit risk management of classifiable exposures
  • Critical thinking process
  • Data processing and analytical skills
  • Credit Risk knowledge (at least concepts and drivers)


    Bachelors degree, preferred Master's degree

  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Project oriented with also excellent skills for details, able to work independently by prioritizing workload and projects to meet hard deadlines
  • Eager to learn and grow
