Amgen is seeking a US HCP Meeting Manager who will be responsible for the development and management of Heath Care Professional (HCP) meetings for Amgen in the US region. The US HCP Meeting Manager will report to the US Meetings Lead. The US HCP Manager will work out of the Amgen Capability Center located in Tampa, Florida or Remote anywhere in the United States.

Primary responsibilities for the manager will include the following:

The US HCP Meeting Manager responsibilities will include:
  • Subject matter expert (SME) and single point of contact for HCP Meetings originating in US for global meetings.
  • Manage supplier relationships for in person, virtual and hybrid HCP attended meetings. Implement strategy and deliver objectives, while working with meeting sponsors.
  • Responsible for day to day work with CVENT
  • Responsible for suppliers delivering compliant sourcing and logistical services, from program registration, contracting, data collection, operation to final billing. Influence change management obtaining stakeholder buy-in of global SMMP.
  • Manage suppliers to assure adherence to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators (SLAs, KPIs).
  • Liaise between meeting sponsors and supplier contacts to ensure regional and global program objectives and meeting needs are met.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled status meetings with stakeholders to communicate individual program and collective program initiatives.
  • Provide SME (for HCP meetings including but not limited to compliance polices, spend capture guidelines, HCP contracting, country hotel approvals, and country compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain proactive, positive, open line of communication with stakeholders to ensure understanding of expectations.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled status meetings with stakeholders from pre-launch through program operation.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with multiple contacts within hotel and supplier organizations.
  • Manage virtual HCP meetings from registration to operation.Provide reporting to internal stakeholder.
  • Own supplier relationship - Supplier Performance Management of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators (SLAs, KPIs) for Virtual and F2F suppliers.
  • Responsible for finding solutions to issues that have been escalated by outsourced suppliers.
  • Responsible for process training and support.
  • Owns data and manages QC process.
  • Trains supplier and internal staff as required.
  • Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP documentation).
  • Prepare and present Quarterly Business Reviews with Global Stakeholders.
  • Works closely with GMM team a day-to-day basis to ensure program objectives are executed for virtual investigator meeting initiative.
  • Provides Strategic Meeting Management (SMM) account program budgets, timelines and documents.
  • Track and report on cost savings negotiated and achieved.
  • Prepares/presents quarterly metrics for Global Business Services leadership team on overall activities.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of employee, financial and company records.

Doctorate degree & 2 years of HCP meetings management experience


Master's degree & 4 years of HCP meetings management experience


Bachelor's degree or & 6 years of HCP meetings management experience


Associate degree & 10 years of HCP meetings management experience


High school diploma / GED & 12 years of HCP meetings management experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years project management experience, meeting/ sourcing management, including budget maintenance required
  • Pharma industry experience sourcing/planning/account management) with Pharma code knowledge
  • Prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key stakeholder and supplier relationships
  • Relationship management in multiple country cultures a plus.
  • Prior experience managing third party suppliers.
  • Prior experience and knowledge about virtual meeting setup, operation and management
  • Digital Event Strategist certification a plus
  • Prior experience preparing and presenting data analytics and strategic concepts to influence change.
  • Presentation skills, both verbal and visual ideal
  • Strong aptitude for technology and/or software solutions with an analytical capability ideal
  • Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands and working on a virtual team preferred
  • HMCC certification preferred
  • Excellent technology skills: MS Office, Excel, Power Point (Workday and SAP a+)
  • Ability to present complex data to diverse groups
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift
