The Systems Administrator will join a highly skilled team driving data center consolidation and standardization projects across multiple Rite Aid data centers while championing opportunities for process and infrastructure improvement.
Primary responsibilities include administering and maintaining an array of SAN/storage systems and virtualized infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will ensure superior levels of system availability, performance, and resiliency. Responsibilities will include supporting current technologies in SAN/storage/virtualization, assisting in deploying new technologies, creating/modifying SOPs and ensuring that all areas of responsibility are audit compliant.
The position will also be an escalation point for the company for SAN related technical questions and issues. The Systems Administrator will have the opportunity to cross train in multiple technical areas spanning different vendor technologies.
- Administer the SAN/storage systems consistent with corporate standards for physical and virtual server environments.
- Act as a catalyst for driving data center consolidation and standardization.
- Assist with coordinating and performing storage migrations.
- Assist with virtualization infrastructure upgrades and installations.
- Monitor and track system metrics including capacity and performance.
- Assist with maintaining, documenting, testing, and enhancing disaster recovery practices.
- Configure and maintain local and remote replication.
- Provide coordination and/or perform proactive firmware/code upgrades where applicable.
- Configure and deploy new storage environments in parallel to supporting current dispersed environments.
- Following internal SOPs, create and execute change requests during defined maintenance periods.
- Function as a contact point for storage related issues including afterhours support.
*Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business or Information technology preferred.
Salary Range: $86k-$128.9k
- 5 years of experience in Administrative responsibility with a focus on storage and virtualization technologies required.
- 5 years of experience in Experience with various storage vendors including; Dell/EMC, HPE Nimble, Pure Storage, and Hitachi Vantara hardware and software solutions required.
- A strong understanding of various compute hardware, operating systems and software solutions including; Brocade/Broadcom, Cisco, and VMware required.
- Motivated problem solver with the ability to quickly and efficiently absorb and communicate technical information required.
- Proactive and self-directed individual capable of identifying and implementing environmental improvements required.
- Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills required.
- Possess the ability to work in a team/group setting or autonomously when necessary.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Bash required.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Must be willing to accept new responsibilities and proactively review new technologies.
- Strong ability to multitask and manage prioritization.
- Must possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills to facilitate supporting an evolving and fast-paced environment required.
